Bill, You have been so helpful. This is a true tile job that has been a disaster. First, the wrong tile was installed in February (after being told before it started). Second, the thinset was not removed from the first job and the floor cracked all underneath the tile laid again in March. The correction to the second job did not come until July. They could not fit us into their schedule. They did not use the grout requested by us, refused to put in the expansion joint when questioned and said it did not need one. Lastly, the grout dried completely uneven in color, not to mention being poorly laid out in the division of lines. A salesman came to look at the job today and said they would grout on top of the tile. Is that normal? I am so sick of this project!!! We have been without this second bath except for a sink since Februrary 3rd. Surely this can not be normal for a tile job. Strangely, they act like everything is normal. I feel like we need to get someone out to look at this job before we accept what has been done. However, it is apparent they are incapable of doing a normal tile job.

I hated Avent. I think they gave my son a bad nursing action that let my milk supply dwindle. The baby doesn't really get much nipple in his mouth--just the nub. With nursing, part of the motion is a pressing down with the mouth behind the sinuses. With the Avent, there's no section of the nipple that can be treated that way by the baby's jaw. But I stuck with them because of all the stuff people say about them. After we stopped nursing, I looked at the Healthflow nipples, and realized I would have liked them better. I like the Evenflo and the Johnson & Johnson Healthflo. I don't like Gerber (not enough of a bulb at the base), and I don't like Avent, and I don't like the Playtex ones.

Short of the long... While I was away my husband broke our tub and he and his DIY buddies put cement board and built the niches. Tile guy finally hired after hunting for a while, I'm in a small town. I'm in my last trimester. Husband picked a gorgeous metal mosaic 5 yrs ago. The mosaic metal tile is under our mirror in front of sink currently and is grouted with a charcoal color grout. He wanted to use this mosaic tile as an accent with a plain white 6x6 tile as the wall tile on tub area. Experienced Tile guy informs me that he Needs to get bigger than a full sheet of mosaic in the niche without cutting and a teeny bit of half a tile will be at the bottom. And did not recommend using the mosaic tile on the sides/top/ bottom of niche bc the channels on the tile could cause issues in the future with leaks. So metal mosaic went on the back of niche and white tile on sides. Also did not recommend using the mosaic as an accent bc of it AND also someone where my husband bought all the tile told him that the fact that the mosaic tile is twice as think as the wall tile is fine. Seriously...Tile was purchased 1.8 yrs ago, that's how long ago my husband started this project. I REALLY wish I had read the threads on tiling around niches and building up a niche to 12x12 before he started. We got some ridiculously high quotes for tiling bc I think I was anal about wanting grout lines and tile to be evenly spaced between the niches so this time around I shut it and let the tile guy take over. Reasonably priced guys were months behind. Did I mention Im due in a few weeks??? I managed to run over to the slim pickings hardware store and found a box of dark grey tile that could work as an accent and let him do his thing. Crooked ceiling was taking the tile guy forever to plan matching wall grout lines in the ceiling so I said fine just use a white grout for ceiling no one will see. Hubby took the ceiling yrs ago bc he's 6'9". The fact that the grout lines dont match the niches don't bother me as much as the fact that the second upper row of tile should probably have been one row lower. I can't even see the house. any way you can get some pruning to take place? Major pruning? Honestly, the house could be chartreuse and no one would ever know! If the stone work is staying, pull some of the tones from them. for the door I'd do more of a reddish/lavender or gray/charcoal. Blue is just not going to work w/the stone. (unless it's a blue/gray) are you sure you don't want to wait until you get the new roof?
