Kitchen design help need.... HELP!
Comments (2)I found out how to post pics, Also: is it tacky/wrong to use a wall-mounted hood over a freestanding range? I usually see nice range hoods over slide in ranges or cooktops. Thoughts?...See MoreRecessed lighting design help needed.
Comments (4)I have a 90" x 88" galley kitchen. Four recessed lights is plenty. You don't need a light in the center because the beams of the four lights will overlap eliminating any shadows. Arranging the two left-hand lights on either side of the cooktop as displayed above makes sense. Unless you have no space above the ceiling, don't use wafer lights whose lenses are flush with the ceiling. Instead use 4" (6" are big and ugly) lights whose lenses are regressed to reduce glare. Be sure the lights are dimmable. I prefer lights with 3500K color temperature but you can buy lights with adjustable color temperature and experiment to find the one you prefer. Examples: NICOR REL-R Square Regressed 4 in. White Selectable Downlight Trim Kit Maxxima 4 in. Slim Square Recessed Anti-Glare LED Downlight Juno CS WF DREG B 4 in. Adjustable Lumen and CCT Canless Recessed Light Trim Lutron LED+ dimmers are the best....See MoreGravel patio area design help needed
Comments (12)I do not plan to use it for seating, I have 3 patios around my home, that already all have seating. The fireplace area, the area above it, and a large 30x40 patio on the front side of the home. This area is also sloped, the gravel just makes it appear more level, because of water shedding, so this area is built to help with drainage around the home. I would rather try to think of another use for it aside from just yet another seating area, some nature idea would be nice, but have zero idea of any ideas for it, should I put walls up around it, make some sort of trellis wall and turn it into a nature area. No idea hoping to find some photos for inspiration.....See MoreDesign help needed.
Comments (2)Congrats on the new home. First, unpack and put things away as best you can - clutter makes it hard to visualize. Replace curtains that were left with plain white until you get furniture, rugs, etc figured out. I would raise all the curtain rods to the same height. Put out a FEW of your favorite decor items that make you feel good. Bake some cookies and look to room and decor ideas here on HOUZZ and start your idea book....See MoreRelated Professionals
