Would these lamps & mirror make room work?
Comments (8)Hi Les and thanks for your thoughts. Funny, you mentioned a chaise lounge instead of a chair and ottoman. I am checking CL for both! I either want an chair/ottoman that work very well together-- or a chaise. About the round mirror, I see what you mean. I like the idea of three coordinated rectangular pics over the bed and will keep my eye out for them. In the short term, however, nothing seems to beat the round mirror, so we will probably put it back onto the wall. (When I was painting, I took the mirror down and Spackled the hole, intending to find something better.) "I would move the plants to the corner not shown in these pix, formed with the same large window wall and the wall to the right of the bed." I am not following. . . Finally " Not crazy about the chair next to the bed. It looks crowded. Do you need it there for a reason?" I like having a chair there to talk on the phone. More narrowly, though, I need some place to "hide" some of my DR chairs. Our DR is small and can't take all of them. "I would still think about using the desk/table as one of the nightstands, on the left side of the bed" I like this idea, but it has a few draw backs. The desk is about 6 inches taller than the bedside table, so won't it make the room look cockeyed? Also, DH pointed out that his bedside table stuff is messy and he likes having the shelves in his current bedside table to hide stuff. I did try the desk on MY side of the room (see below), but no one seemed to like it. I would be open to using the round covered table next to the chaise and getting a smaller one for my side of the bed. The round table is actually nice w/o a cover (see further below), so it could look nice by the chaise. desk by my side of the bed with red chair. bedside table (mine without a cover on it)...See MoreFeedback needed - rearranging floorplan to make room for bigger island
Comments (5)What’s your budget for this redo? 100K? 200K? 300K? Because you are not getting a functional result for any amount of expense. The idea of the playroom is particularly just a 5 minute function waste of money. It has zero appeal or function for anyone with older kids or an all adult household. Even young kids won’t really use it. They will want to be underfoot. Better bedrooms are better than a “playroom”....See MoreBathroom remodel - best way to make shower bigger?
Comments (6)Great ideas all, thanks. live_wire_oak - this is a 2 bedroom condo with 2.5 baths. We've got another bathroom with a shower only, and a powder room on the main floor. Does that change your opinion at all about removing the tub altogether? I prefer to shower over bathe so it wouldn't bother me, but a very small family potentially could live here and they might want a bathtub. bfox254 - I like that idea - the additional light definitely would make it feel less enclosed. I'll think about that....See MoreSuggestions for vanity mirror(s) with make-up area
Comments (4)I have a sink and lowered vanity area in my master bath. I have a custom mirror treatment with wall to wall mirror and then decorative mirrors which demarcate the sink versus seated vanity area. The sink has two vintage sconces which are for styling and the seated vanity area has a lit "Hollywood style" lighting arrangement. I have a small master bath (urban high rise) and the mirrors certainly do increase the feel of space and light. Here's a picture when I was moving in...See MoreRelated Professionals
