I just painted a sample of repose grey on the wall and I’m seeing the same thing. Very blue. Living room faces south. I googled pics of repose grey and I see pictures that don’t look anything like each other- “I like that repose grey... oooo not THAT repose Grey.” The first pic is a no go... the second pic is what I love. I’m no designer but I’m seeing a warmer color with more green undertones in the pic I like. I guess repose is just not for me. 😓

I started painting in my house to add life to the builder white we have everywhere. I picked repose gray for the main areas - hallways and the open first floor and green in my sons room at his request. I want the bedrooms etc to look like they are coordinated and well planned, light and airy. I have no idea how to go about this. My doors are white, finishes oil rubbed bronze, cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen are cream. My floors are white oak, cream tiles and off white carpet. Decor style is more Johanna Gaines but currently very builder grade and I love gray.

That was a helpful video nhb22 - I think the big question is can this space support light or dark cabinets? If you go light you can do COLOR on the wall. If you do dark cabinets you will want to go LIGHT on the wall (white /no color). If you did seasalt in LR and are happy with it it may need the kitchen area in a light white to balance that / make it all make sense and not be an overload of bluish green colors that are close in tones. I would argue that that dark gray cabinet is NOT a good family member to sea salt walls right near it. Why not stay on the sea salt color flute and go with something like SW Retreat or Pewter Green for the kitchen cabinets? Then you are staying within a family of colors. Origami white on the walls AND the uppers and soffit in the kitchen would compliment the Retreat / Pewter Green color and make the kitchen not too heavy and dark. Check it out.

We bought 4 pieces of 2'x2' drywall and painted the bottom 4 inches our trim color and the rest of it one of the 4 possible choices we were considering. We wanted the carry them to different rooms of our current rental to see the colors in different lighting, different size rooms and different times of the day (we also have to pick one choice for our whole house in our new build).
