Black kitchen appliances options/mixing with stainless steel.

Having a problem finding black appliances with everything I want. For example, I like Zline appliances but I can’t find a large enough capacity refrigerator that does not have the ice and water on the outside. I like GE appliances but one problem is they don’t make a 48” stove, that I’ve seen except Cafe, and also they have varying shades of black and hard to tell if everything would look right. There aren’t many 48” gas ovens in black, so I was thinking maybe I could just go with a regular stainless steel 48” oven and the rest of my appliances black from another company.
I guess my question is, do I compromise on the color for the stove or the refrigerator? One is probably going to end up being the silver stainless.

It's not unreasonable to mix black and SS if you like the look. On the other hand, are you sure you can't find a SS fridge with black sides. My 8 year old KA fridge is SS but the sides and trim are black. You can also find a few fridges that have SS on all sides.

I went with SS appliances. I really love the look of all stainless. However, they do really get fingerprinted quickly. And I don't have kids! When I was looking at refrigerators, the salesperson showed me some in titanium, I think? That were like a brushed stainless that wouldn't show prints so much. I don't know that I would like black appliances in a kitchen with white cabinets. What kind of counters are you going to do?

More to the point, for whom who are you renovating your kitchen? Of course, if you wait for a while, there will be somebody who will fill find any mix objectionable. Its just personal taste. So, if the mix is not offensive to your household, don't worry about it. Maybe you are thinking that somewhere here we forum members have hidden a secret rule book saying "thou shalt not...." ;>) Joking aside, if it does not bother you, don't worry about it. As for your choice of the Maytag range, have you looked into the "Aqua-Lift" oven self-cleaning function? A lot of Whirlpool/Maytag/JennAir/Etc. ranges customers are unhappy with Aqualift. Not a pro here, but I have heard that this is not a uniform finish among manufacturers, so if you want your appliances to match, you will need to buy them all from the same manufacturer. Also, there are some maintenance issues. Apparently the black finish is placed over a stainless steel base and if your surface is scratched, the silver color shows. From an aesthetic point of view, I think your kitchen cabinets are beautiful and black appliances would distract from them. So, I affirm my “vote” for silver stainless steel! But then....I am just one opinion! Good luck!

I'd want the counter space instead of a 48" range in your space. 30" induction would be my choice.

A 36” induction range will give you loads more options than a 48” cooktop and oven. A slide-in range will get you closer to the look you want. You could even buy the Z-Line.

Regarding the fridge, it’s too big an appliance to go for stainless steel and get the look you want. Your inspiration image uses a fridge that looks a lot like the Samsung Bespoke. My brother has this fridge in white and I really like it a lot. You can buy black appliances from different companies. they don’t have to be identical because they aren’t right next to each other, but they have to go well with your cabinet paint.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. Ive mostly cooked on gas stoves- I’m intimidated by the induction. I like the Samsung black - it’s perfect, but I’ve read way too many bad reviews about Samsung. I think you’re right -the fridge needs to be black- a dark black. I can go with GE, LG refrigerator/dishwasher and go with a stainless steel oven.

Take a look at this IKEA UPPLÖV anthracite kitchen. I think it looks great with stainless steel appliances.

Whirlpool makes several black refrigerators without door dispensers. How about a 36 in. Gas Cooktop in Fingerprint Resistant Black Stainlesswith a black Whirlpool 30" wall oven that would match the refrigerator.
