This winter, it's been remarkable to watch the leaves fall from our oaks. I have a Chinquapin Oak for which, when the leaves turn brown, boom, they're down. But a nearby Red Oak holds onto it's brown leaves for a month or more. Is this a species-specific behavior, or do oak trees behave differently in this regard in different years.?
