rock garden wall inspiration needed :)
Comments (7)From your other post you're in SEQld? I can't tell from the photo whether it's a retaining wall (that is, between you and a neighbour) as you talk about the "garden above it" - or maybe you just meant on top of the rocks? I also can't see how wide it is--- which might be limiting. I'm not sure whether you are looking into a neighbour's yard with their shrubbery on the other side of the wall or whether it's all part of your yard? Sometimes if it is just crappy hard soil inside and no additional water it can be very hard in summer keeping things growing in a narrow space with intense heat. However if you wanted a japanese style I would try to get things into size perspective first and, yes, that would mean ditching the snowflake--- or taking cuttings or digging it out in spring and moving it. I'd also assess some of the other plants up there - one looks like a traveller's palm? It probably gives some shade but the roots are impossible to garden around. Depending on how much money you want to spend and how much time you have to maintain (including watering_ I'd go for some of those cute weeping mini acacias, a few kurume azalias and add some of the nice small landscaping grasses....See MoreI’m needing help with my kitchen wall it feels naked.
Comments (14)Some ideas: If this is an option, I’d pull the table away from the wall a bit more and get a fun MCM buffet. (It may not be space feasible, I don’t know what’s around the area.) An area rug. Not necessarily this particular style or size, just wanted to show how it anchors the table and chairs. As mentioned, colorful artwork. Maybe two pieces of art, hung vertically. If you’re into a very minimal look, leave the mirror but lower it some. _________________________ ETA: Was posting at the same time as Felipe Custom Woodwork. Comments (8)Carly, you should first find out what needs to be done to remove that wall... Not to mention you can't go by other pictures, you have to do a current layout of space you have, i.e. kitchen + dinette area + dining room with the right dimensions, etc to see what you have and what you end up with after that wall is removed. Your best bet is to contact someone local, a GC who specialized in kitchen remodelings, or a kitchen distributor rep from a local kitchen showroom and see what they can come up with... or you can locate a drafter who can do a 3D schematic layout who knows about kitchen design, etc this way you can visualize the outcome and make any changes. To give you an example, I did this for one of my customers a while back. They also wanted to see what can be done if the wall separating their kitchen and dining room was removed. This is the existing kitchen if an update and direct cabinet replacement were done. This is the layout with the wall removed. Good luck...See MoreWall art inspiration for my naked walls!
