"Could you frame out the larger mirror in wood trim and stain to match new mirror so that it would be a mirror then a mirror?" ThatÂs what I was thinking about doing. I wanted to solve the technical problems first, of how to hang, and the aesthetic issue, of would it look right in the first place. I stained other oak shelves in the room to match the vanity, so could do that. (The craftsman mirror is not oak, like the vanity, though: I think it is rubberwood. If I framed the big one I would have to use oak, but could probably get it to match well enough.) Assuming the cables are attached to screws in the studs over the big mirror, I could conceal that, maybe, by having the wood trim on the big mirror pass over that, with a small hollow in the back. The big mirror goes almost wall to wall on the sides, and right up to the round base of the light fixture above, so if I framed it out, whatever I did would have to float on the surface of the mirror and be adhered with glue.

ThatÂs what I was afraid of. I didnÂt want to put ideas in peopleÂs headsÂbut that is the reservation I have. I think having to use it on one side of the wall, asymmetrically, doesnÂt work. I was SO sure it would look great, and be really like the finishing touch in this room. Darn! The thickness, bulkiness, of it bothers me too, in that place. Too much mass. I thought, before I tried it, that it would balance the weight of the solid looking vanity. Instead it just makes it look like too much weight on the left side of the room and nothing on the right. Having to one side bothers me with the light fixture too, and I love that light. It doesnÂt show well in the photos, but is a stained glass repro I ordered from a craftsman lighting company, in a custom size. The mirror is discontinued, so I canÂt get another to balance it better. It doesnÂt look right centered on the big mirror either. Too odd when you are standing in front of the vanity. Sigh. I love this mirror. Buying this one when it went on clearance was what made me decide to have a craftsman bathroom in the first place! (Well, that and it opens off a craftsman family room.) I have one open wall on that room, where I used to have a framed picture. IÂll try propping it up there. The craftsman family room already has a mirror.

I would've said next to the dresser, too -- because that's where it seems more natural light is (a little more than near the end table because it's not on the same wall). But, since there's already a full-size mirror next to the dresser, why hang another mirror nearby? It's pretty, but why is it really needed? Clearly the nightstand looks kind of alone there, but is there something else that would be more useful for that wall space? How old is your daughter? Does she read in bed? Is there small wall light that we don't see? Maybe a wall light or lamp is needed there? And the nightstand is looking full of stuff now. Maybe she needs some small shelves above it instead? I just can't see her getting much use of another mirror there if she has a full-length one nearby. Sure, it'd be decorative, but it would seem to me to be redundant. (Or what about artwork there? Maybe something she's created?)

Agree with Ingrid and dragonflywings42. The first step is to take down what you have on the walls, declutter and come up with a plan for each room and put back only what is meaningful. Clear space on the walls is just as important as what you hang on the walls. Most of what you have is hung too high. It (art, mirror or whatever wall hanging) needs to be at eye level which is approx 58 inches from the floor to the center of the art. There is some flexibility in that figure, but the art needs to relate to the people and the furniture. The more stuff that is out along the surface the less we see because it is all jumbled together. Start with a clean surface and only add back a few pieces. There has to be a place where the eye can rest.
