Prefab Granite or Quartzite

last modified: last month

Hello! I’ve previously had great experience with installed prefab quartzite countertops in 2 smallish homes with no island in either. Very happy with the quality and price. The places to find such countertops are plentiful here in California, and no shortage of qualified installers who do beautiful work.

I’ve also gone the other route with custom cristallo quartzite in a larger home. Of course, this was much more expensive, but was necessary due to project size, including a substantial island.

We are currently in planning stage of a small build in coastal Florida. I cannot find a single stone yard in the area (or state??) that stocks prefab, natural stone countertops. The difference in cost is huge. Prefab installed can be less than $1k for a single line kitchen without island. No where near that cost if you go custom!

Is this even a thing outside of California? I had no idea this wasn’t an option nationwide. Am I wrong?
