Outlet in Appliance Garage
Comments (4)you can get a box extention for the electrical outlet box that will allow the outlets to be brought forward to the inside of the cabinet. That way a normal outlet cover can be used and it will look finished. I would not just leave a hole in the back of the cabinets. It will look unfinished and it may not meet electrical code (not sure about that though)...See MoreLatch placement for appliance garage? pls help!

Comments (14)I realize this is an older post, but I thought I’d share idea of using a one-piece slider mat to stick on bottom of appliance that you wish to pull out for use and push in allowing doors to close when not in use. There are also smaller adhesive discs and roller ball caster’s available for less than $1 each. Using those would allow you to have ease of use for any items you wish to remain out of site without sacrificing space for pocket doors, garage doors or slider door since you won’t need a rollout shelf for items to sit atop. The ones I have are less than 3/4” high so shelves inside shouldn’t be issue either. Sure beats a $1500 custom....See MoreHelp critique my kitchen! And add appliance garage?
Comments (8)Get one with a roll-out tray, which must be pulled out to expose the toast slots. I keep a collage of appliance garage pics on my desk top. The top left pic is of GW member huango's kitchen. The bottom row is Ikea: If your DW is in the corner of the peninsula, be aware that when the door is open you won't be able to pull out the trash/recycling bins, and probably won't be able to reach the shelves to the right--if that's where you plan to keep dishes. It's difficult to critique a kitchen and offer alternatives without a measured overhead view. What is beyond the door by the fridge? If that's just garage/mudroom entry I'd want the fridge closer to the dining and living areas, so no one has to walk through the work zones to access it....See MoreRelated Professionals
