Bed has arrived! (PICS- w/ new paint) Need bedding help :)
Comments (30)Okay- let's talk bedding. I have spent hours searching (online and in stores) and I keep coming back to the RH bedding. So I went back to my store today. They were out of about half of what I needed and wanted so I ordered it (w/ free shipping) and I should have it ALL by the end of the week. Here is what I decided on. 1 King Duvet Cover in the 18th Century Medallion (in link above.) Pacific, so it does have a hint of blue. 2 Matelasse King Euro Shams in Fog (also linked above) 2 Lumbar "accent pillows" in cashmere.. one for each sham. I brought home 2 colors- a gray and an icy blue and need to choose. 1 Matelasse coverlet to act as a blanket- will be between the duvet cover and sheets. ***bought in Eucalyptus which is an icy blue color. The salesman talked me into this and I an really second guessing this for 2 reasons. #1- $179 is a LOT of money for a blanket that might not been seen. I could find a blanket at HomeGoods for $39 that would be fine. #2- *if* I stick w/ it, should I exchange it for Fog (color) so it matches the shams?? I really like the pop of color, but let's say, in the summer time, I decide to let the coverlet show more... wouldn't I want it to match the shams? Or am I trying to be too matchy-matchy??? (a problem of mine.) Wdyt??? Solid choices? I do need to get a king, light weight duvet on order. Any recs? I will go ahead and link the Matelasse coverlet again... *if* I keep the coverlet, should I switch to Fog? wdyt? thanks! Comments (7)I think it would really depend on what other type elements you have in your room and surrounding rooms (flooring, furniture, art, etc.) and what particular style or feel you are going for. Then, decide on what color(s) appeal to you. One of the easiest ways, as Brutuses mentioned, is to pull one from the drapery fabric and then have it color matched at the paint store. Also, if you have a particular color in mind, there are a ton of talented folks here who could help you choose just the right one. Do you have more pictures of the room and surrounding areas where the drapes will be hung? That will help tremendously if you want help here....See MoreHelp with curtains, rug etc with this bedding
Comments (8)I think a woven shade flanked by buff-colored linen(y) curtains would be pretty - colors similar to these: You might also consider introducing a little bit of sage green into the mix, perhaps in your rug (look for something predominantly sage, with accents of red and beige perhaps). You could then carry that sage green into your bathroom as an accent, along with the taupes/beiges you're planning. Very pretty bedding, and I think you're going to have a lovely space....See MoreHelp! Need Help with White Curtains!
Comments (5)in the kitchen the bulbs should be 4000K,,,nothing less than 3500. I happen to like all of my bulbs like that except a few table lamps. to be honest, the curtains are too short. even if you get the right rod and place it where it's supposed to go, the curtains will be too short. you have a nice dining area so I think you could jazz it up a bit. you don't have to spend a lot either. BTW, are those mini blinds staying?? could you just remove the blinds on the small kitchen window? I think you have too many. for the dining room, I'd go w/a nice roman shade. But if you want the white, try something like these and you'll want to hang the rod about 4-6" above your window. the bottoms should 'kiss' the floor this is the look you're after. try the woven wood blinds instead of the white minis. have you considered maybe doing some woven woods and then a white panel w/a subtle design? notice the rod height above the door frame, and how the bottoms kiss the floor. I love these types of window blinds instead of the mini blinds. look into silhouettes or pirouette or even zebra inset blinds...See MoreRelated Professionals
