Need help with guest room bathroom
Comments (4)I believe you posted in another forum, asking for layout advice of the bedroom, but I can't find that now. Can you tell me what is to the right of that right door? I am concerned that your stated desire to have this room be functional for a family needing services at your local Children's hospital is not in alignment with your current plan for the room... for example, I'd want to see at least the size/wall space for a queen or full bed PLUS another twin or bunk bed system......See MoreNeed easy ideas for guest bathroom
Comments (9)Well if you don't want to move any fixtures, there's not a lot you can do to fix the layout. The suggestions of two bathrooms is good, but would require quite a bit of plumbing work and cost. Are you looking for more of a basic remodel without major changes? In that case, first replace the pedestal sink with a full vanity. That pedestal sink just looks lost in such a big space. That space between the toilet and bathtub could be filled with a large towel warmer. Alternatively, you can put an open shelving unit there to help fill the space. With the walls being just huge expanses of drywall, use some sort of wainscoting (or tile to wainscot height) to help break it up. Are you considering replacing the tub? With that much floor space, you could put in a much bigger unit and do so with fairly minor plumbing work (unless it's concrete floor). If you are looking to create more privacy for the toilet without moving it, you would want to remove and close off the door to the bedroom. Shift the hall door over closer to the sink side. That will give you more room to close off the toilet with walls. Otherwise a basic, temporary fix would be to use a screen/room divider on one side of the toilet, assuming you can get the aesthetics to work with how you decorate the rest of the bathroom....See MoreHelp with bathrooms. Comments (15)I agree with Cpartist"s layout and like moving the closet over as suggested by D M so that bedroom 3 has easier access to the bathroom. Do you have room to have the toilet face the tub and add a linen cabinet next to the toilet? How wide is the tub toilet area?...See MoreHelp with decorating for guest bathroom
Comments (5)Like the wall color. Good choice. Goes well with the colored stripe in the tub/shower enclosure. You might consider a bracket centered above the window for hanging a small potted plant. Alternately, a bracket can hold a basket with for items you want handy for tub/shower use such as shampoo and body soap. Unless you have a light above the tub, a single heavy duty clear shower curtain liner works as a shower curtain. Good idea with the mini-blinds for controlling light and privacy. For a short window, I'm fond of a swag valance hung on a rod slightly wider than the window so the fabric covers the window frame -- top and sides -- leaving as much glass and natural light visible as possible. https://www.hooksandlattice.com/pots-planters/hanging-baskets/hook-hpt.html...See MoreRelated Professionals
