Enginerred Marble Vs Quartz bath Vanity

Good-day I have not been on here in quite a bit but I have a question regarding bathroom Vanity tops.

We are replacing a sink in our one lone bathroom the sink is between two cabinets which is exactly 30" so unfortunately my vanity options are quite slim having to go with a 24" bathroom vanity and sink.

My wife saw a vanity that she really really likes but unfortunately its a preassembled vanity with a Engineered Marble top its not pure marble but engineered I have heard some horror stories about all things Marble so I've been trying to find a base that she likes then I would get a quartz top but if I go this direction it almost doubles what I would spend on the one she likes and to find one exactly like this one with the shelves and drawer that she likes has proven to be near impossible.

So my question being is engineered marble as bad as everyone makes it out to be.It makes me a bit nervous to put this vanity put in and start using it to only have the top start to etch 2-3 months down the line.I know quartz is the way to go but with a vanity this small and not a whole lot of top space going engineered marble is it so terrible.

We would take caution not to clean it with vinegar or anything acidic my fears are the following items.

Shaving cream, stray toothpaste and both my wife and my daughter do dye their hair occasionally so am I setting myself up to be pissed off and eventually have to replace this vanity top because of staining/etching issues down the line?

we really both like this vanity style and the top color but the one thing holding me back is this top the width is not A standard width neither its a little bit more narrow than a standard 21" vanity as its only 19" deep which works better for us in our small space so I would really like the engineered Marble top to work but I don't want to regret it down the line.

Do I look for a base we can live with and get A quartz top pay a little more but know im getting a top of the line top where I don't need to worry about staining and etching as much or do I roll the dice on A vanity that we really like that would fit in our small space a little bit better but have a more delicate top?

There is no rush on getting this done but i'm driving my wife crazy with not knowing what direction to go in

Thank-you
