Question about sofa fabric

Selected a fabric for a new sectional. below are 2 pics of the fabric with the top one shown with a rug i think might work. wondering if i do the sofa in this fabric along with this rug, can i also do a shearling or boucle type chair or is it too much textire? i can change the fabric to a quieter more one note fabric if need be. had a hard time finding a rug i liked. all walls painted chantilly lace. wheat hardwoid. brass chandelier below. open concept with below globe pendants over island.

The white from the carpet would make a good accent color for a chair in plain solid fabric.

Yes, to the shearling or boucle. When you colors are this simple, textutre and weave can add a lot of interest. I love mixing patterns and although these look busy up close, in reality they are pretty subtle. It seems awefully boring to me to have the chair the same as the sofa. Do you have samples for the chair to post?

Why would use of the sofa make an area go bald? Polyester and Rayon vary all over the place. If it's a well-made fabric, regardless of the poly-rayon combination, I don't see why it shouldn't wear well. We are VERY HEAVY sofa users (well, we use the sofa and our Labrador Retriever uses the sofa)! My sofa's have become stained, but never have they worn away because of use. One thing that does cause a problem with upholstery fabric is denim. It will stain and abrade the fabric, any fabric (except possibly leather or vinyl). Some manufacturers will not guarantee their fabric or fabric protection treatment against denim damage.

Thanks bbstx, I would never have found that image. It does look cool on that chair too; more what it is probably designed for, but I love it on Grandma's chair too. So much fun! We famous!! And 1929, I think I was the one who goofed by not making the scale more clear when I posted....it was hard to make the leap without knowing that. Thanks for your kind words, and no worries, your secret is safe here :) kitty, thank you so much, I do have the needlepoint, and I must say it was kind of neat to see the back of it, and how much care had gone into stitching it so neatly. I will take good care of it. And I don't doubt that it could be reunited with the chair someday. Who knows, maybe one of my kids will buy an old house with a proper parlor where it could really shine, like the LR in my Grandma's old house.

I love it! About 20 years ago I had a yellow and pink floral couch and love seat and man, I loved that thing. I have not liked a piece of furniture as much as that since. Now I have a brown leather couch I hate. That's what marriage can do to your decor people! haha In all fairness, I also have not seen anything like it in the years since. Everything in stores is solid neutral colors. blah. I also am impressed about the IKEA couch. I've been contemplating getting one for my family room. Curious about your new slipcovers. Are you having those custom made somewhere local? What would be the issue having green slipcovers made for the chairs? I actually don't think that would be too much green in the house. I think it could help tie all the rooms together.

IMO you wait until the furniture arrives then see what rug works .. I need to see the pieces not the samples to me gfbric needs to work with the style of the piece you can always add texture in other ways . Pst apic of the sofa please The stuff you posted is all abit the same and for me boring . Rugs are great way to introduce some color to be used for accents and maybe even a chaiir color . Seeing the sofa will help with chair style .

I haven't selected a chair or fabric for a chair yet. I have only purchased the sofa.
