Comments (2)Again, too much metal, too much matchy stuff. Don't buy any more metal stuff. Don't shop for wall items at the big box stores. Hit second hand and antique shops or some interesting art, No More Metal!...See MoreWall decor for large dining room wall- what should go here?
Comments (15)No one looks at themselves in a mirror while eating, so if that's what you would like to hang there, by all means DO. A mirror is a classic dining room element that expands the space, reflects chandelier light and candle glow, as well as the people gathered around the table together. It's a lovely addition. Should you choose artwork instead, don't feel you must match your choice to artwork in another room. Art is much more interesting when you collect pieces that speak to you in some way; that have special meaning to you and say something about who you are as a person. Anything else and you might as well be in a dentist's waiting room. It's your home ... let it reflect who you are....See MoreDining room wall art to finish the room!
Comments (11)While lovely your room is a little "over curated". It seems like this room could use a little fun and definitely some color. Find some art that speaks to you, something on canvas with color. go to art shows, art fairs, etsy etc... look for local artists etc.. you could buy 3 or 4 different ones and put them up in rotation so you have a different installation each season or weekend ! lol You room would look amazing and cool with pop art or some abstract art if you are concerned about color try vintage art.. or a reproduction art art is so personal no one can pick for you. What I wouldn't do is pick some piece that "goes with" your decor, avoid the 3 B's: blend in, boring and banal. Pick something that speaks to you/ makes you feel something! I promise it will transform your whole space with life. post pics as you find things! I agree with Yvonne above, painting the grate a color matching the wallpaper will help it disappear, vents are not trim....See MoreWhat to do with dining room wall?
Comments (13)@H K what paint color did you use in there? I like it! @ffpalms and @elcieg I love the way you two worked together to counterbalance the space. Symmetry is beautiful, but when it's not available asymmetry can be SO interesting. If you carry this off, this space will look so special. I love that you chose gold/brass frames to repeat the gold/brass in the light supports and tie it all together so subtly. I would have used black and that would have been too much and would have appeared contrived....See MoreRelated Professionals
