Comments (25)Coral Corduroy is a favorite of mine too. I like both Changed in a Moment and Cliff Jumper, though all reports seem to indicate that the latter is not a fast multiplier. The greenish throat of Cliff Jumper is appealing. We will see how it does here. Parent RFK was a disaster. Changed in a Moment wasn't as nice as in previous years. The icy lavender eye is striking and holds fairly well. Clash of Absolutes is still not at real clump strength. Curt says that he has made the cross that produced Clash dozens of times, but has not been able to replicate the unique color. A standout this past year was Crintonic Perfect Kiss. I didn't list earlier, as I forgot the Crintonic prefix. It seemed nicer than when I saw it at Crintonic. Next to lavenders, Curt seems partial to pink. Crintonic Candy Store is not more than five inches. I like Contributing Editor. Cupid--it is a young plant that needs to show more. Out of Celestial Virgins, it is pastel. Crintonic Pancho Villa --decent height...See MoreD daylilies 2025
Comments (19)Lots of beautiful D daylilies posted here! I especially like the clump photo of Deliverer, Debra's seedling Diver Down X Fighting Fire, Dances with Giraffes, and Dearest Valentine. Our dearest Valentine did bloom this year (in spite of being in the 'crush zone'), but I didn't get a photo of it. Here are my D's. Danger, Will Robinson! is new to the garden. I like it! Darkness Rising is just a small yellow diploid, but its claim to fame is its black scapes. As you might imagine, Bob loves Dave Chase Golden Glow. Deadliest Catch is turning out to be a great parent for us. It blooms late in our garden even though it is registered as mid-late. Delinquent Doll is one of my favorite late bloomers. Dennis Russell has been a disappointment for us. It doesn't reach its registered height and bud count and vigor seem low. I like Glowing Quasar a lot better. Double Blazing Busby is a nice orange. It has very full flowers and tall (for a double--41 inches) scapes. That's all for me. Nancy...See MoreG daylilies 2025
Comments (20)I see that Golden Glitz has some Great White in its parentage. GW has been used so much in hybridizing. Some of its kids have inherited some of the slow increase trait: Also Known As, Ain't She Nice (to a degree), Michael Miller (to a great degree), while others such as Blue Pink Beauty, Green Mystique, and Boundless Beauty increase well. Of course, some of its genes are quite diluted with crosses. So many Green Icons. It hasn't been tall here, at least not yet, in a rather short time. I always fear the Emerald Starburst line. Nice to see the Cottage Garden plants. How far is that garden from the lake? I believe it is a warmer zone than inland. Glass Houses. Pic is from 2023. Not quite as good this past summer. But what a summer--we were in the exceptional drought category (highest) for a long time (dark maroon), when nothing but parts of West Virginia and western PA had that color. Meanwhile, someone in Indiana complained about how much rain she had gotten. Garry Bewcyk. Very nice when it is clean. At Crintonic, it is usually better than here. Quite well budded. Glowing Quasar Geneva Firetruck. This makes for such a showy spot and grows well. I don't know why it isn't more popular. Guayabera --a Hanson with good height. Guard Your Heart. An Emmerich that is fairly new and fairly short right now. Graphic Art --too much sun on this day. Very reliable and wonderful habit. GIMMEE GIMMEE GIMMEE --an earlier bloomer I still look forward to. Rather washed out this year....See MoreM daylilies 2025
Comments (23)Maleny Empire Rose I remember is an Australian one. The white midrib is vivid against the hot rose, but I also remember that it is not a good increaser. Metaphor is appealing; Gates produced a lot of good plants. I still have Sultry Siren, and it captures attention from visitors. Moroccan Sunrise has that vintage Munson watermark; I see that it is rather short. Mystic Maize's picture is a light yellow that I like. I wonder why some pics show a golden yellow. I like it, but fear that it would be too late for me. Years ago, I remember Richard Norris saying that Momentum was a good parent. It has over 100 progeny. Mary Alice Stokes was not good this past year. Few blooms. It is a Hansen. Nice face on Mystic Greens. Mary's Baby got zapped by the heat this past year, but Mary Lightfine (an evergreen) looked good. It's not in a prime location, Mister Mayor is vigorous and attractive. I prefer a scape that is not so upfacing. Mean Green I don't remember having an off year. Mai Tai had a so-so year. My Utmost for His Highest. A tall plant with flowers that are rather upfacing. Blooms later than I like. Marian Cavanagh has eye-catching flowers. Buds can be crowded. Man of Sorrows was especially vivid. Makayla Jenelle is a color that I like. Scapes are not really high above the foliage, but stand out. Mystery of the Ages needs to add a few inches in height. We shall see. I enjoyed the variable forms of Madam Bessemar in 2024 (Schwarz). Minnesota Nice blooms in abundance. A bit lighter than usual in 2024 heat. Money Maker is a nice earlier one. Does better than RFK did. Miss Marie. Fairly short so far. My Heart Belongs to Daddy was recently divided. Make It Snappy came into its own last season. Mitch Lynd glows. It is fairly short, but well budded (Norris). Mardi Gras Indian is an intense color. Emmerich's Mighty in Battle is a deep color. I would prefer a slightly larger bloom. Mister Butters is a beacon in the early garden. A neighbor always comments on it....See MoreRelated Professionals
