Turn sink on side for narrow space

last month

Renovating tiny 1970s cottage and have been told sink in bathroom corner needs ti downsize from 22" to 17" . (Need 15" from center of toilet to side of sink for code). Would like to keep bigger bowl without losing front to back space which seems to be the norm. Would this work? For example get a 24" length sink with a side lege and install it 25 degrees to the right ..so screw into right corner wall instead of back wall and faceut will be in right corner instead of left of the bowl..does this make sense? That way the front of sink is still within code, then you get a reg size sink with a ledge in back......seems like this would be a no Brainerd in such a small space and I'm amazed they don't sell sinks in narrower length but normal depth for these situations!! Thank you!
