White cabinets. Light Cashmere tile. Need a .neutral paint for walls and trim around door!

You'll get more help if you post some pictures. There are a zillion shades of white, ranging from cool to warm. It will help to know what color your floors are, too.

youve got neutrals covered...white cabs/ black counters/ biscuit shade tile.. I would consider a pale color for the walls. it would enhance things . pale green/ pale blue for starters. Paint is an area where you can expand the palette and it is not a huge investment or risk.

all your neutrals ..then pick off that pale green on the left for the walls IMO..you can keep it really light and choose warmer or cool green ..green is nice to work with.

I'm painting my cabinets white right now, and had a hard time choosing the white. Funny how you can stand there staring at four white paint chips taped up to your cabinets and go nuts trying to decide which one looks best! I almost went with Simply White but ended up choosing White Dove. I went with Benjamin Moore Advance in satin. The people at the store recommended either Cabinet Coat or Advance for kitchen cabinets. I'm not familiar with SW Pro. But if you use BM paint, the satin might have enough of a shine for you. I started with satin thinking I might switch to semi-gloss, but the satin is really nice and has much more shine then I expected. I would use satin for the cabinets and semi-gloss or even gloss for the trim. But I like shiny trim! Good luck! I should actually be painting my cabinets right now!

We're in the same boat.... we specifically avoided trying to match the appliances because we felt like it would a) fail and b) be too much.... so our cabs are a warmer white, bordering on a light cream. We also have white subway... which is another white.... this way things are all in the white family, but not matchy - matchy.

Thanks for the info! Our test door came with just the cup hole drilled, but it was exactly where I had specified. I talked to Lowell (I hope I have his name right!), and he told me they could do the IKEA pattern, but just send him the template and a digital photo. I'm pretty sure we will go with Advantage. Their pricepoint is the lowest I've found. And I have checked probably 50 different suppliers. I had a line on another company, and their prices jumped from my original estimate, and now I see they don't even put their prices on their site; they want a quote request filled out. They are claiming the "lowest" prices, but I am skeptical. In going with Advantage, do you think I should add another 1/16th to my measurements? I read that they have an allowance of 1/8" either way on their doors, which could be concerning if they are short. Hmmm. Food for thought. I'm looking forward to your full pictoral spread! :^)

Hi Bigideas87, Yes, I understand a little better the style you are going for. I would say go stark white. Seriously. Go with what you love. Find a white by testing different whites on large pieces of cardboard and leave them around your room for a few days to see which one sings to you. I love Super White by BM. I almost think the brighter, the cooler the white the more the baltic brown counters will look almost black. And embrace those counters despite the fact you detest them, start being nice to them because they might just help you make your kitchen fun. Since they are part of your kitchen make them be a player in your space. Not the star. Check out below there are some browns pulled into the space that make the kitchens almost as pretty as your bathroom image above. With your inspiration photo I see a subway with a dark grout. I say do that! Do a subway with a grout that is a black or dark brown to pull those counters in but give you a more modern feel to the space. Use black modern hardware and light fixtures. On a tight budget visit pinterest to see how you can spray paint hardware to give you want you want. Or spray an old light fixture. I like the idea of a color, too. But if you want to stay neutral, you could try to use a color that's similar to your grout.

I'd recommend painting your sample colors on large poster boards rather than the wall. That way you can move them around the room to view in different spots and different lighting.

Grab all of the tiny sample strips for the Benjamin Moore OC colors and start playing around. Narrow it down to 6 and purchase samplize swatches for those. I'm a huge fan of neutrals and subtle differences between shades. If it were my kitchen, I'd try to color match to the backsplash.
