You don't want a rug? Find one you love with multiple colors, and you DO NOT need an accent wall. Pull a color from the rug, or a shade of whatever color. Paint all the walls. Love white bedding? Fine! Change the throw, the lumbar pillow and whatever accent you like on that bed, as often as you like. I do think If I hear the words "accent wall" again, I may scream. Accent walls are for amateurs. Pros rarely do them unless an exceedingly good reason. In 33 years I have done it once. What is good on one wall is darn good on four walls :) If you want Urbane Bronze? Do four walls! Put a really light neutral rug on the floor! Load the bed with white linen! Add a furry throw in mink . Nothing wrong with a dark and moody bedroom, as long as you add the BRIGHT light of accent. Go for it!

Right now the room doesn't feel fully functional and has no color. Fixing the function depends on how the space will be used. Adding color is easy, but you should know what colors you want to add. The neutral walls and floor are simply a backdrop for furniture, art and décor. The gray palette is pretty easy to work with as most colors go well with gray. I try to only buy quilted coverlets or bedspreads as the stuffing in quilts without enough stitching tends to get balled up and not stay nice after washing. If I were going to ALL that expense, I'd consider a full ADU, and not just another "primary bedroom". I wouldn't even call it that. In CA we call it an ADU or a separate apartment, and they can be rented out (where I live) for quite a lot of money. Most of the homes in my neighborhood (a tract) added the "granny flat" which is pretty much what you describe, in that they are a large bedroom/bath, but they do have a small but full kitchen area, with dishwasher/frig/sink/cabinets. And a separate entrance. Note that you can design it to be a part of your main house, or have the option to lock-off.
