Comments (9)That will be an expensive door to replace and I would not touch it if there is nothing wrong with it. here are companies out there that will come out and cut your door open and install any number of glass packages in it. CAVEAT: Most of those are set up to cut holes in standard sized steel and fiberglass doors. Anything that you would cut to the width to match the current glass placement would likely undermine the strength of the door and cause it to rack and become unstable. What is above the door, i.e. from the outside? If a 2nd floor is not directly above (I suspect it is), a sun tunnel would probably be cheaper. Long story short, if you can't bring in daylighting from somewhere else, you are likely going to be forced into a a complete door replacement and are going to have to look at a unit that is clearly well built to accommodate a bunch of visible glass and still maintain its stability....See MoreFront door help

Comments (12)Update on our door- they sanded it down but it’s near impossible to get all the old stain and polyurethane off for the door to fully take the new stain. There two options now- paint it or get a new door and honestly we have been renovating since March and I am so over this, so I am headed to the paint store to pick out some paint that brings me joy and I think in the king run this will be a good decision to paint it cause the upkeep is less over time. We live by the ocean so weather takes a toll on doors here and they need refinishing every couple years etc so I am just going to have it painted and can always change the color easily in the future. Thank you all for your advice! I will post a final picture when it’s done....See More6ft front door? Help!
Comments (13)We're trying to enclose it to become a mudroom. The breezeway goes into the kitchen. The door you see goes into the living room. The setup of this house is not great to say the least, and we're trying to maximize. Having a mudroom would be a game changer because right now you basically take off your shoes and jacket in front of the refrigerator. I hate the idea of a 6ft door too, hopefully we can figure something out!...See MoreRelated Professionals
