I do not love the display cabinets in the corner but the wallpaper looks nice and no patterent o deal with and please hang the TV lower so not cords are there no need to do anything to the walls but you sure need lighting Myself I would move the TV to the cente put one dispaly on each side and a nice floor lamp in that corne r maybe even an arc lamp like the one in the wallpaper inspo pic .The tall pice amybe in the entry or just another spot in the room

Thank you Patricia. We are not planning to change the layout, with the tv remaining centered to the sectional couch. Main concern was whether the wall would be too dark, too stark a contrast.

Also interested if anyone has used mica wallpaper and whatvthat experience has been.

I agree with @Patricia Colwell Consulting that the 2 display cabinets should be moved to each side of the TV cabinet, the wall would look balanced as now it doesn't and I'm sure the 20 inch or so width of the display cabinet would not make that much difference for TV watching. I would also lower the TV just above the cabinet (no wires showing). A tall plant in the left corner would nicely complete the wall display.

As to the wallpaper of accent wall idea, not sure without seeing the entire room

I wouldn't do a painted or wallpaper accent wall. I like your plan to conceal the cables in the wall and I'd also check the height to see if the TV center is at eye level (40-45" from the floor) since it appears too high with too much space between the console and the TV's edge (should be just a few inches).

It appears the left most display cabinet is right at a doorway/walkway? I'd remove that cabinet duo grouping altogether since it's unbalanced to the console, and a bit matchy-matchy. If they must stay, I'd edit the large vase on the pedestal out of the space. Sometimes less is more.

Not sure if you need the accent wall. Lower that TV even if it means it gets attached to a bracket on the wall.

Yes to lower the TV, and if you are going to leave the display cabinets where they are, I suggest moving them side be side to make one unit, thereby looking more cohesive. To me as they are now, the 2 display shelves with sculpture in between looks disjointed.

My husband sits to the left side of the sectional and to center the stuff on the wall means he wouldn’t be able to see, such that he refuses to move the tv. And to make the room symmetrical we’d have to. So we are sticking with asymmetrical. I am fine with it, i like it centered on the sectional.

The spot to the left of the tall cabinet is actually a reading nook, it isnt going anywhere. And the tall shelves dont impede the space at all.

Purchasing that TV unit and the shelving units was not the best solution. Looks pretty dated from the get go.

If you won't move the end units, you might consider placing them right next to each other so they look like one unit. Put the glass sculpture between them and the tv. I'd paint the wall instead of using wallpaper so you can get the exact shade of blue you're looking for.
