Results of Comparison Betwen Torco GP-7 and Mobil1 2T Oils
Comments (4)I recently try both Echo Power Blend and Mobil Racing 2T. I ran both in my new Shindaiwa C4 blower. I have been talking about this on other post here already. I mix about 32:1 on all. 1) When I first bought the blower, the dealer put a tank of gas mix and I finish it. I check the plug only. It was covered with black corbon. I did not clean the plug, just put it back. 2) I use Echo Power Blend at 32:1 and ran 3 to 4 tankful ( 1.5 hrs. ) I pull plug, the plug became mid brownish color. Much better looking. The black carbon was gone. Nice and Dry. I took the muffler off, inside muffler looked ok. There was corbon cover the heat shield, I wiped it up and put them all back. 3) I ran one tankful of Mobil 2T at about 35:1. I pull the plug and notice the plug get very dark, almost black and a little oily. I pull the muffler and looked like more carbon. The heat shield cover with carbon. Not thick but noticable. I open the valve cover ( it is a 4 cycle engine) and see a lot of oil, dripping amount. 4) I use Q-tips, clean the inside of the muffler as much as possible. It was black. I clean the inside the exhause port best I can. Clean the heat shield and put everything back. This time I go back to Echo Power Blend and 44:1. I'll update you when the next time I open up. From the little time I have with the two oil. I feel Echo is much better than Mobil 2T at 32:1 ratio. Maybe Shindaiwa C4 is very different than the two you were using. Maybe 32:1 give very different result. But the plug look so nice after using the echo the first time. I cannot see the piston through the exhaust port because it is a 4 cycle. I didn't have a procedure down, that's why you see I could have done better. But this time, The muffler, exhaust port and the heat shield were all clean using either gas or alcohol. When I pull them out and inspect them again, it will be more conclusive. Stay tune!!!...See MoreWe didn't buy any
Comments (6)DH likes all the canned greens (I think ugh!). But he's a bit more careful to read labels ever since he took a big bite from a can of 'turnip greens' that was seasoned heavily, very heavily, with hot peppers. MIL loved canned asparagus and refused to eat it fresh, no matter how long the fresh spears were cooked. To show what a difference 20 years makes (I think that's about how much older Gandle is), I grew up with a freezer. Greens (and a good many other vegs) were frozen for future meals, never canned. I recently discovered that cabbage freezes very nicely. Chop or shred, and blanch for about a minute before packing into meal-sized portions. It retains crispness and is great in stir-frys and most other recipes. Since DH has a habit of buying a 10-pound head of cabbage while not wanting more than a serving of cole slaw, etc. in any one week, it's nice to have the other 9 pounds in the freezer for future use....See MoreGaps in kitchen cabinets shaker style
Comments (17)The doors are built with the gap for the purpose of allowing stain to get into the gap so that when the panels shrink, bare unstained wood is not revealed. On paint-grade doors this millwork detail becomes a problem for the painter. I observe in the leftmost pic, of the top rail/stile joint, the rail has shrunk narrower than the top of the stile. Your house is too dry! Humidify, or it's going to get worse in January. Don't caulk that, it makes more and worse problems down the road. The panel floats and expands/contracts seasonally, so filling that seam is a losing battle unless you can micro-control the temp and humidity year round. Use a small thin blade to break the paint "webs" between the frame and panel, but without marring the finish. Vac. out the debris....See MoreNeed to choose - White or ivory cabinets?
Comments (73)I think raised panel plus two-toned equals too much, unless your kitchen is pretty substantial in size..and there is lot of breathing space..or if you have an island-you can choose one color for the cabinets, another for the island. All the pictures I'm looking at right now, trying to find you a one or two-that have both traditional raised panel AND two toned cabinets-they look pretty.. majestic. They look rather grand I'd say. Is it the vibe you're going for? Will it suit you, your family lifestyle, your house? maybe yes, I don't know What I do see-You obviously love ivory door more than any other door out there on your attachment. As much as I love shaker, and two-toned cabinets-I can't tell you to do that, because something else obviously makes you more happy. Something else being that ivory door)) You said somewhere that your inspiration pic makes you feel cheerful, seems friendly. Choose the thing that will make you cheerful. It's you who'll spend hours after hours in this kitchen.. Maybe try to analyze why the inspiration pic makes you the happiest. Maybe somebody you knew and liked had similar kitchen? Maybe you love the colors together? Maybe you like that the lines seem more soft? Maybe you don't like simple-maybe you like rounded corners, details, etc? I appreciate humongous amount of styles-but still won't be able to reproduce all of them in my house. The moment I can explain to myself what exactly I see in it (color, shape, character, mood, memory?)-the easier it becomes to choose. In short. Instead of "i love ivory cabinet door" tell yourself "i love ivory door because..")) There. you have your story, and feel like you're making the right choice. For yourself....See MoreRelated Professionals
