Comments (9)sorry for the late reply Dick. I posted in my latest post and before. So they have these brown scabs on buds and scapes, and most of the buds dry out and those remaining they either can't open or open deformed flowers. Foliage looks good, though. Many are affected, in different locations, tets, dips, new(er), old, seedlings....See MoreB daylilies 2024
Comments (23)Blessed Art Thou and Belle of Ashwood are well captured by David. I think he uses an Olympus. Maryl, unfortunately, I think that Curt labels everything semi-evergreen. Salter did that too. In Curt's case, nearly all are hardy. Blushing Escapade had lower bud count this year, but I did get this picture. I have not had rebloom for a few years. Boss Lady also not great, but I did take this one pic. A friend near Lexington said that plentiful summer rain (before late August) saved his season. Not here. Also, bountiful rain in the Northeast. Bob Marley was destroyed by thrips, which thrived in the mild winter and hot dry summer. As did aphids. Picture from 2022. Blazing Saddles is among the few that did well this past summer. The tall scapes are typical of Hansen. Big Sur is quite similar to Rose Masterpiece. Its blooms are more often perfect, but it is not as vigorous as Rose. Bubblegum Twist has a winsome coloration, but its scape will win no prizes....See MoreA daylilies 2025
Comments (20)Running late on the posts. We had about 8 inches of snow with an ice storm mixed in. And we were out of power for about 10 hours. Needless to say, quite busy! Sunny today but still frozen, with ice all over everything. Tomorrow another 4-6 inches of snow predicted. And on top of all this, my main computer where all the daylily pics are stopped connecting to the internet. Have to deal with the warranty issues now. I copied last years folder to a laptop so i can post here. Sherry, My favorite is Awesome Arts. And I agree, I like the mix of flowers in some of your pics. Maryl, Angel Kim is quite pretty. Nancy, My favorite of yours today is the seedling from Deborah. Debra, All My Love to You really strikes me today. Mantis, Alone Again and Aquas Asul are both beautiful. David, Alpha and Omega is quite pretty! It deserves a home! Allegheny Skyline is a very good bloomer. Astral Voyager. I got this the same year as Allegheny above from Debra and love them both. Applique Amethyst Art, my only double Art Gallery Expressionism. Say goodbye, it is gone. I blooms so rarely & so few it is not worth the space. that's all. Brad...See MoreC daylilies 2025
Comments (22)Sherry: I really liked my Cherokee Star. However, It loves me and then it leaves me. It did so well one year that I was able to share a division with a friend. Then that winter it died. I bought it again and it kind of sat there during the growing season and then almost died again over winter. What's left is in a 6 inch pot just limping along. The color is what draws me to it. Such a wowzer shade of deep red......Mantis: I saw Critonic Fireball and thought it was Deliverer at first. Eye catching color..........Kate: Child of Bethlehem is such a pretty purple with white edge................Here are my contributions to the C line: Always like to show off one of my favorites. CORAL CORDUROY Contented Heart: Because I like orange shades. All blooms were double this year but it's not a double so we will see what it does next year. Liked the color regardless: Another new one. A Douglas. He does the color pink well. Seemed pretty colorfast given late pm shade. Carolyn Grace McGhee: Maryl...See MoreRelated Professionals
