Comments (13)ilmbg... I don't believe there is an steam only "Steam" cycle (on any washer). Wait...doing a quick search, LG may do a steam only and looks like they have an "Allergen" cycle. But be aware, some love their LG's and some hate them...(some have had bad service experiences). As far as I know, most "Steam" cycles uses hot water but shoot a shot of steam during the cycle. The Electorlux doesn't have steam in the washer but it does in the dryer. This is used for freshening clothes or releasing wrinkles (but you can also archive this effect if you throw in a damp towel into the dryer with some items that need a quick wrinkle release or freshening). The heat of the dryer will kill live dust mites, but will not get rid of accumulated allergens. For that you need to wash in hot water. Hot water also loosens and releases (with detergent) body oils which get trapped with in fibers and attract dirt and allergens. I don't think a 10 minute wash cycle would be possible. Most High Efficiency front load washers have longer wash times then any top loader though you can adjust the time somewhat. Keep in mind that there is the drain period and 2-3-4 rinses and a spin period in between those rinses. Front loaders just don't have one rinse but multiple ones and then you can even add an additional one. So far Electorlux holds the title for fastest wash time for the "Fast Wash" cycle of only 18 minutes. Most "Quick" washes are about 30 minutes (give or take)....See MoreNew to Tenn. Comments (6)Maybe a few comments. Tennesee has lots of climates, Memphis is a lot different from Nash ville as an example. Most pole beans grow well in East Tennesse, sothwestern can be quite hot and humid. The Appalchian region is great for beans and many of the heritage varieties originated in the area. Lima beans. Baby limas have adifferent flavor than the giant limas. Christmas/Calico is one of more prolific giant limas. King of the Garden is the standard for whites. Whether you prefer shellies or dried beans is a matter of taste. Shellies are harvested when the beans are full size and pods are leathery and easy to open. For Dry beans the pods are allowed to dry on the plants, harvested, dried some more, and then shelled. They usually grow in flushes with intervals between harvest. This harvest photo shows a mix of shellies and dry. Cowpeas come in all sizes colors and shape. Zippers have green shells that don't dramatically change colors like purple hull types. For shellies the pods will get lighter in color and be full of peas. Zippers are noted for easy shelling as shellies. If you let dry on the vine, they can then be used as dry peas. They are most desired as green shellies....See MoreTrying to find area rug to complement my space
Comments (20)Thanks everyone for the ideas! I think I've actually decided to go with the Moroccan trellis. Because I change out my colors for the season and change artwork around a lot, I figured having something more versatile would work better. And hopefully it'll open up the room some more too with the light color and open pattern (although it doesn't seem small in here due to the large window and huge open kitchen/dining that you can't see). @ Maureen: I love the version in the photo you posted, do you know where that's from?...See Moretrying again, any suggestions for a new rug??
Comments (10)Hey! Good to see an update! A couple of thoughts: wool rugs, IME, clean up well. I’ve always had them with kids and pets. But I understand not wanting to risk it … just want to say if you really love that CB2 rug, get it now and store it. They change out their inventory periodically and it definitely won’t be available in a few years. It is beautiful and unique. I hope you show us the Ruggable you get. :)...See MoreRelated Professionals
