Display Garden--Final update before the pictures
Comments (10)These last minute changes seem to be nature of the beast :-) Although my garden show entry is only a container display rather than a fantasy garden, it still suffers from the same 11th hour alterations. Just moments before the truck was to be loaded with this and the materials for two other vignette displays, we had to make a plant substitution. A mature Corokia cotoneaster (wire bush) that was the focal point of one container because of its very stark, architectural presence was deemed to look a little too "dead". If one is at all familiar with this shrub, that's pretty much its normal winter appearance but it was felt that the general gardening public may not realize this and wonder why we would include a dead plant as part of our competition display! And we elected to use Irish moss for the carpet that grounded the 5 various sized containers. The 20 flats were grown on for us by a local wholesaler with heat to encourage some rich, lush growth in winter. They got just a little too "hairy" with this process and we had to mow them all with scissors to get the right look. The good news is the Edgeworthia that anchors one of the other containers is at just the perfect bloom stage and the fragrance is enchanting! The show opens here this Wednesday....See MoreJenn-Air built-in fridge -- touch screen display not working
Comments (2)My guess is , no one has service experience with this, and I'd escalate your case with JennAir. You want to talk with a senior technical , service person or engineer. Chances are no appliance tech has seen this problem and they are likely to call in for guidance anyway. Better you find out now for free that a new display/controller is 700 bucks + labor instead of paying $95+ for a service visit to tell you the same thing. Perhaps JA will warranty the whole deal - but I wouldn't hold my breath. They've never been overly service oriented and now they have other masters that they are beholden to. This is more complex than 99.9% of fridge repair men can handle. It's more in the realm of the IT boffin or Home Integrator/ Stereo guy and even they will be put off that there is a refrigeration compressor attached to the "computer"....See Moreupdate this built in ironing board cabinet
Comments (4)I looked at your other thread and what I'd do is have a solid wood door made for the cabinet - paint door and trim to match wall or other trim. Hang the stained glass door in a window. If it doesn't work with your decor you could sell it. If you use it somewhere else in your house and have white trim there you could paint the trim to match....See MoreUpdating Family Room Media Built Ins
Comments (27)It seems to me you would want the TV on the angled wall, to minimize glare from all the windows and especially if you want to be able to see it while cooking.. So maybe if you don't need the storage, you could drywall over both, put the TV to the right of the fireplace and you'd have room for seating or display storage to the left of fireplace. I"m impressed with all the options in the renderings, but not a fan of just a single built in on either side....See MoreRelated Professionals
