where can i find a nice 13 x 20 foot area rug for less than $10k?
Comments (39)I really don't understand how anyone can buy a rug online. I have to at least see it in person to know if the colors are right. Monitors and the lighting when the pic is taken vary so greatly. Heck I've brought so many rugs home over the years. I want to be sure that what I've chosen is going to compliment the entire area around where it is being used. How do you do that with an online rug? However, I have seen a good amount of dissatisfied posters who've received a rug that was not as represented by Overstock or another seller. Who picks up the return cost? As far as the posters who are poo pooing buying a good quality rug (travel to Turkey, etc) and then link to JC Penney rugs, what a hoot. Obviously the OP has something a little different in mind with her stated budget. Also, I get a kick out of people professing to travel to a place where they would be in the total minority and have no idea of where to go and how to haggle with the rug sellers, let alone figure out the exchange rate. Have you ever been to Turkey? Really....See MoreCan't find frameless 48" shower door in Oil rubbed Bronze
Comments (6)Go to a local glass shop. You need a bigger budget for your wants. ORB is a giant upgrade in price. If this is DIY, you'd better have placed blocking behind the walls in the appropriate location as the walls had better be perfectly plumb. Or frameless is not going to be possible....See MoreShower size 55x72. Would this be possible?
Comments (40)We do love our large shower, a tad over 10’x4’ inside space with almost floor to ceiling very heavy factory coated glass which we have yet to clean since dries up spotless and will be even easier once our whole house reverse osmosis is installed and operational. I agree with Niday, the huge shower is a lot easier to maintain, the two hand showers also come in handy to reach any part of the shower pan, when it requires cleaning. Although shower controls are on walls, one gets inside, steps to the side inside the shower and it takes less than a couple of seconds for the water to reach its preset temperature, and one does not get wet until one stands beneath the rain shower head. By that time we have an option to turn on the jets or other shower heads. Yep it required a lot of planning and design, but was easier since I was the designer. Go big if you have the space and budget, but use the best factory coated glass if using glass, and put a larger exhaust fan in the bathroom to quickly suck the steam off the shower area. Our 11’ wide mirror in the master bath does not even get a hint of steam even after we have a very hot shower....See Moreputting in one-piece engineered stone shower base
Comments (8)"Is it true that there is some kind of difference between the likelihood of leaks with a Silestone shower base (or similar high-quality engineered quartz product from one of their competitors) versus tile?" No, in fact a one-piece base is less likely to leak than the multi-stage waterproofing required of tile. "How do I actually find a contractor who has experience installing these things?" www.homeadvisor.com, or trade associations: www.isfanow.org, www.stonefabricatorsalliance.com "Or if I have to go with a contractor who is otherwise good but has no experience with these things, how do I ensure that they do it properly?" You'll insure that by checking out his reputation. "I am particularly confused because obviously all contractors install single piece tubs everyday, so how different can this actually be?" It's not. If you want "a durable, clean and modern looking white shower without grout" you'll start with a Glacier White Corian Grifform pan. The coved base and wall corners are essentially exclusive to solid surface. Size is no longer an issue. There is no better shower material. You can't cost-effectively cove engineered stone. I've fabricated and installed solid surface shower bases and walls and have written magazine articles about it, so some people think I kinda know a little bit about this....See MoreRelated Professionals
