No! There is very little wall space here so it is going to look like stripes of navy blue going through your kitchen. I think it will be jarring in contrast to your white cabinets. What makes you want to paint this navy blue? Perhaps that impulse can be redirected in a way to help you resolve whatever you currently think is wrong with the space.

Your counters look nice to me. Any chance you can change the overhead lighting?

Where does it tell you to paint blue at all?IMO spend money on the lighting to brighten the space and navy will suck wahtever light you have right out of the space . That light fixture is SO dated and to replace with even a track light with 5 heads in LED 4000K will totally transform that space

Definitely agree with replacing the ceiling fixture. You could also swap out your window valance with either a woven wood/bamboo or else one with a color you pull from the rug. I would leave the walls and cabinets white. A small lamp on the countertop would add warmth too.

No. It won't go with the colors in the kitchen. It looks like a nice kitchen. You might get some more interesting and colorful shades for the window, but overall, it's a nice space.

If you think the counter is too dark, painting the walls any dark color is not a wise choice and will also make it feel more broken up. I’d be aiming for a light space that flowed visually.

Suggest painting the walls and ceiling the same color as the cabinets and put back the doors (these ones are fine - less is more).

New lighting will make a huge impact and modernize. Add a washable/larger rug or a patterned vinyl that pulls in the counter/floor/cabinets/valance (suggest removing the pom pom trim).

I would paint the interior of the cabinets SW Roycroft Pewter. it would look similar to the dark inside you have, but make a more intentional statement. a great contrast between a bright white cabinet and inside accent. (if you intend to display the dishware like you have) It will highlight the blue in your dishware. changing out the light fixture and other suggestions others have made...

Your kitchen doesn't lend itself to painting the walls in navy. But you can bring in more navy with a roman shade and remove the horizontal blinds for more brightness. I also suggest you replace the ceiling light and do some simple styling for your countertops. If you don't have under cabinet lighting it's also something to consider as well as lighting in your glass cabinets.

I like the counters— they appear to tie the creamy cabinets and SS appliances together very well.

Also, the counters look “ organic”- kind of natural neutrals, which I like. To me that means not color you add should look kind of softer, darkened colors— warmer reds, nature green, coukd be blues with more rich blue. Not a fan of the navy& white window shade with your granite.

Maybe bring in some of your clothing, towels, random dish or pottery or anything you already have in some colors you like and see how works with the cabinets and counters— just to give you ideas of what direction to take before you go buy stuff.

I missed out on the part you live in Florida but was stuck on your idea you wanted navy. So here's another suggestion showing a washable (washer/dryer) runner rug from Ruggable, a bamboo roman shade, and colourful pendants that can be hung on a ceiling track for even lighting throughout the kitchen. I do like the idea of Aqua suggested by @BeverlyFLADeziner but I would use it as an accent and keep all walls white. Here's the idea...

When I lived in Florida, I always bought inexpensive flowers at Publix and they usually lasted 2 weeks while looking very good.

Be careful of going too theme-y. I think your current rug looks sophisticated. Would you want to add more color in the form of colorful glassware? Or blue and white dishes? You could lean some up against the back of your cabinet.

You mentioned wanting to use colors that go with other rooms in your home. Do you mind posting pics so we can see what other influences are in the space?

I honestly think the space is near perfection. Just work on the lighting and window shade. I know you think your counters are dark, and maybe they look better on screen than IRL, but I think your counters are on the lighter side.

What about a chrome faucet and a light fixture with navy?

I love Navy. I think I bleed Hale Navy BM.

So... I am in the camp that says try it. If you love blue and have some other blue items it could work.

Will agree with other posters - navy is not a good choice for wall color especially if you are wanting to keep the kitchen light and airy.

Not much area to paint…looks like the white tiles and cabinets cover most of the walls…..is the counter top black and white..can you post a up close photo of counter top pretty please.

I would wallpaper with peel and stick inside your cabinets to really add personality to this tiny space…go big or go home! here are a couple ideas…than paint the small wall area with coordinating color..change up window treatment and hardware.

it looks like you already have the backsplash done. I would save some money and take off that 4" piece of the backsplash and tile down to the counter. It will feel very different.

Get a sample jar of the paint you want and paint some pieces of poster board and tape them up so you can get a feel for what it would look like.

Are you changing the rest of the condo because I don’t really see any navy. It mostly looks black and cream. I see a painting thats blue and a few pillows. With this color scheme and the separation lf the kitchen, I think you can pick whatever color you like to accent that space.

A peel and stick that is Asian inspired…to be cohesive with your decor..introducing the blue but still having black and tan.
