Leafahoppers. Seldom a problem around here, even though they may be numerous. So, depending upon what's happening at your place, you might be able to ignore them.

Hi Deva! I'm lazy so I usually leave these particular bugs alone until it is time to bring my pots indoors for the winter. But if you want to treat them now, use Bacillus thuringiensis instead. I get mine in granule form from Amazon. It is dissolved in water and you water your pots with it. The bacteria (naturally present in ground soil) eats up bug eggs. In autumn, we all flush the soil and rinse our pots when we evacuate our plants anyway (with hose on full pressure, set to "mist" to dislodge stragglers on the pots) so just do that as usual. Then do the Bt bath. I usually do this throughout the winter whenever my plants get a sip of water. I also spray neem on the plants and especially the pots themselves (make sure to keep them out of direct sunlight after.) I use imidacloprid too when infestations get out of hand in a particularly precious potted plant. But I beg you not to let your plant bloom when treated with systemic pesticides. I think so- it will take a few applications to kill the eggs and all. Also, I just read that lowering the temperature, even just at night, as well as having good air circulation will help keep the spider mites away. If you happen to see scale reappear, you can treat them with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol, but your current infestation is too dense and needs the neem oil. There are several other recent posts on here with the same issues (and pictures too!)- read through them and see if you can find more information that might be helpful to you :)
