Off centered fireplace/tv dilemma
Comments (8)If you are looking at it strictly based on lookks My first instinct is to center the TV over the fireplaceve. If you want to go further you could cut the wooden panel to be over the fire place only not side to side full wall. This will create focal point. One way or the other cut the panel or not you can decorate the left side anyway you like as almost a separate area....See Morefamily room tv dilemma
Comments (5)You could potentially move the smaller grey sofa to where the TV currently is and then place the TV above console to the right of the fireplace. Either way, we think you'll want to place the TV above console to the left or right of the fireplace on an articulating arm so you can pull it off the wall. Comments (58)@Stephanie Wow! Looks really nice! I’d say now’s the time to live with this arrangement for a bit & see how it flows & feels with the TV & chair in new locations. I’m guessing your temporary TV chest needs to be returned to its home but now you know what to look for. For point of reference, my TV console is only 15” deep x 54” long. A narrower cabinet will make a good difference in your space if you need a longer cabinet bc you get a larger TV. That slippery slope again! Your entry is also changed & if you’re not keeping one of the new chests then there’s nothing on that wall which creates new open space. Several have made suggestions about choices for it - mirror & chest or art only & mirror & chest on the short wall where mirror & wicker is. Those are new traffic flows too so try them out while considering change options. A thought about sources for furniture pieces - I often hear FB marketplace is good for finding quality older pieces. I’ve never used as not a FB user but thought I’d mention it. Stephanie - this has been such a fun thread you started! You’ve been such a good sport about doing all the work of moving things around & posting pics for more input! I’ll be interested to see if you make anymore changes! I see your windows are open so guessing you’re enjoying spring - I’m envious. It’s mid 40’s & raining here in PNW!! Coldest & wettest spring in 20 years per the weather folks. ☔️...See Moretv console / sideboard size dilemma
Comments (8)Thank you for all of the comments! I wish I had another wall for the TV, but I'm in a condo and space is very limited. That wall is the only one where the TV can be placed, unfortunately. :( I'm definitely going to go lower with the cabinet and TV- I love that idea. I mentioned above that the cabinet has to be able to store toys/art supplies, so functionality is really important. The fireplace may have elements that are incongruous with each other, but I actually love it so much! Probably why I'm no pro decorator. lol You guys are great- thank you again!...See MoreRelated Professionals
