Hi, Jaime, I like the vibe of your room!

To help with specific suggestions, what is your budget? Is a lamp needed for reading, ambience, both? Are there any other lamps in the room (if so, please show).

There are limitless possibilities out there — are there any likes/dislikes about lamps in general we should know about?

ETA: For shipping info, are you in the US?

I like more for ambience. There aren’t any other lamps in the room. I just started looking so I’m not sure on budget. Thank you

I’d look for a casual squat lamp with a earthy feel and a shade that allows maximum light to filter through. Proportions are important as well and have attached an article.

Given the front door is right there, I’d move the large plant so it‘s less crowded, especially now with adding a lamp. If you have room on other end of couch, try table/lamp there and given it’s the only lamp, may provide light into more of the room.

IMO your furnishings & plants position could likely be improvded up.

That diffenbachia right next to the entrance is not good for the plant if you get any cold weather.

The end table you selected is not really large enough to accommodate a table lamp like those posted above. Once you place the lamp, there sill be no room on the table.

A buffet lamp would work though.

Another option is to consider a minimal floor lamp next to the end table.

Do you want it as a reading light or for ambient room light? If reading light, I'd get a brass pharmacy floor lamp. It is a small table surface and with much of a lamp you won't have room to put anything else down.

Is there room on this side of the sofa for a table and lamp, or a floor lamp? Or are you set on having one on your glass table in that spot by the plants?

My daughter used to live in a very cool old building in Dallas and had a living room a similar size and style (boho/mid-century/vintage) to yours — I got her a brass pharmacy lamp for next to her sofa … and on her side table, she had a big plant. On another table, she had an antique victorian lamp. It looked great.

This was what my daughter had (still has in her house now):

Possible scenarios: one table lamp and that’s it for lamps … or an accent table lamp and floor lamp behind chair … or a floor lamp on one side of the sofa as the above photos show.

Just brainstorming here, of course you need to do what works best for you. If you decide no on all that, and really just want a table lamp only, maybe look through some links and see if anything catches your eye.

Oh wow! I love all of these pictures. A floor lamp isn’t a bad idea. I love rocks and crystals so that would give me more room. 🤣

I don't think displaying your plants on that wood rack is the best solution for in front of the window. There are many display units that are more minimal in appearance what would not detract from your plants.

Hey, Jaime! I ordered it online, it’s the Decor Therapy Chloe Pharmacy Floor Lamp. I just did a search and it seems it’s not available on any sites anymore.

If you do a reverse image search with it, similar ones will come up, or just search for brass pharmacy lamps.

Now I wish I’d ordered one for myself! :)

Do you think a colored glass one would work like this? Or stick to the brass?

I think that style would be very pretty in your room … I’d just be sure invest in one of a good quality (new or vintage). I’ve seen some in stores that were cheaply made, plastic-y. But again, a nice one would fit your style well. :)
