Exterior door style - should it match interior door style?
Comments (4)I think its more important that the interior doors should match the interior style, than the exterior style (assuming your interior style is vastly different than the exterior). If its the doors I'm thinking, the interior door you like is a very contemporary/modern frosted slab door. Are the furnishings and finishes inside the house going to be on the modern side? The exterior door is very rustic/French Country/European, and goes very well with almost every other interior door on that page (the doors are mostly traditional), and works well with a traditional style interior, IMHO....See MoreExterior color Dilemma. Comments (15)Nice house. Great location. Existing colors suit the house. Would not paint it white. IF and when it actually needs painting, you might consider two shades of green to have the house meld well with its surroundings. If you're planting veggies, you might want to cut the trees from within your front planting area so its roots do not compete for nutrients. To keep the veggie planting area interesting between veggie growing seasons, you might consider planting some items -- such as strawberries and/or spices -- in pyramids: https://www.google.com/search?q=strawberry+pyramids&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwizlpfpmunoAhVJdt8KHUUNA7IQ_AUoAXoECA0QAw&biw=1366&bih=654 Wouldn't want frosted windows unless truly needed for privacy and that isn't the case for the high garage windows. If not wanting someone knocking at the door being able to see in is the reason for considering frosted windows on the door, consider tinted film placed on the glass before investing in frosted glass. For the large window by the door -- for all windows -- invest in mini blinds you can hang within the window frame and, as needed, the slats can be tilted so anyone looking in sees ceiling and those inside can still see out....See MoreExterior Colour dilemma
Comments (14)I've been house shopping and have looked at dozens of homes in that style and even live in a smaller version currently. I don't see anything glaringly wrong with the colors. I like the repeat of the black garage door, front door, and roof brackets. There's no hiding a forward-facing garage door so I think a quality garage door is important in these homes. The only thing that's slightly off to my eye is that the stucco has an olive tone (yellow) while the Hardie has a blue tone. If you take the blue out and go with an olive tone for the Hardie, it will work better with the reds and olive-grays in the stone. Black is also a better accent color with olive than with blue-green. That gives you a Craftsman color scheme, and I know these homes are marketed as a Craftsman style....See MoreRelated Professionals
