Design Dilemma Laundry Room Plumbing

using deck plate on plastic laundry sink??

The new house we have has plastic laundry sink with a builder grade two handle low neck faucet. I want to replace with single handle higher one—and in black. I know I need a deck plate to cover the two extra holes. (I don’t know if I have space underneath to add dispensers for like two different stain removers) so am just considering faucet.

This laundry sink has a raised panel in center with a recessed area on each side—like they knew this was going to get a deck plate at some point in time…
Most faucets come with deck plates—am I going to have to look for faucet with specific sz deck plate to fit sink or are most of them a common size????

Looked on here but can’t find photo of similar sink to post…

It doesn't matter. : ) You take a picture of WHAT YOU HAVE and upload it, with a tape measure in front of the faucet. It's probably nothing more than an 8" spread and deck plate that covers it. Which is pretty darn standard : )

In case you need this option - faucet hole plates are available in different finishes. I needed to plug one faucet hole and was able to find a round plate that matched my stainless-steel faucet.

I have had plastic, porcelain, cast iron and stainless previously. NONE of them hold a candle to my current Silgranit. It's so much easier to clean. Mine is black, so I can't tell you what the white will be like, but the material seems impervious to everything. I abuse it with no ill effects.

Krylon also sells Fusion primer which I think is clear in color. Once you've sprayed your plastic with Krylon plastic primer, you can use any other spray paint over it. I LOVE Rustoleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover spray paint. On the front of the can it says 2 x coverage. I like it because it comes in lots of lucious colors both satin and gloss. I just bought a can of satin finish "aubergine". What a GREAT color! And, it's about 1/2 the cost of Krylon Fusion. It definitely does 2 times the coverage...a can of it seems to last forever. I have had mixed luck with it over-wintering outside on plastic pots here in wet, cold, rainy Washington State, on the plastic pots I DIDN'T prime with Krylon plastic primer. Things I DID prime with Krylon primer did just fine, and are holding up well. Locally, Home Depot sells it for something like $3.25 per can, Joanne Fabrics sells some of the colors for $5+ per can. Lowes doesn't carry it.

I put almost everything in our Miele DW except a few hand painted glasses. Everything comes out clean and dry - except for the plastic rims if they catch any water or flip over if they aren't tucked in between other dishes - just the little plastic container but I try to use glass whenever possible. The only problem that I encountered was with the black restaurant style catering dishes- thin plastic when I ran on pot scrubber- it turned into a taco I asp wash my SS pots in the DW. If a lot if them, I run on pots cycle-other wise just on sensor cycle. Also- read your manual- it tells you not to rinse your dishes :-) There are a number of threads claiming you need food for the catalyst to work. I don't know if that is true but your Miele has a sensor and is looking for dirt to tell the DW - dishes are clean- go to rinse So bottom line - don't rinse! Usual iPhone text errors

I would have one of those sinks if I had the room..is the sink in a laundry room?? How about making a removable skirt that you can take off once in a while to wash...you can than use it to store things out of sight. If you have any theme going on you can choose fabric or a flat bed sheet to make the curtain that fits the theme.

You can find single hole pull down laundry faucets with an escutcheon plate that solve this problem. Like this one from Home Depot:

It's either 4" on center 0r it is 8 "on center

The raised deck area is 11x4.5 but this faucet doesn’t cover it all
There are 2 small lower areas either side raised part
That side is 4.5” from back to sink opening

You do not NEED to cover it all. It is a laundry sink, builder, and the recess is a "detai' send the water back into the sink.
