My first thought is plug the rechargeable cordless in at only available plug in there on stacking laundry wall & run the cord across floor, stand the vac unit next to fire extinguisher. Mine has long cord so might work depending on model. Not a trip hazard as not in walking path. Find a 20” deep 60” high wire shelving unit & place on the wall with light & light switch. Place tall things on top shelf leaving space around light & leave a clear space from end of wall to light switch so it can be reached. None of that sounds pretty but if it works….

Can you post a pic with the laundry door open all the way in whatever position it needs to be in to fully access the washer and dryer? I'd like to make recommendations for behind that door but it seems the door needs to open into the that extra floor space to make the machines accessible.

REmove the doors from the laundry space to start then that space with the light can have a shallow cabinet for use as pantry and a minimal amount of laundry stuff . I use laundry sheets they take up hardly any space . Store the doors in the HVAC space or a storage space for now

I don't think anything can be placed on the left of the fire extinguisher as you need to open the louvred folding doors.

I don't know the width of the opening to the kitchen but this island/cart is just under 20" wide (19.69" - fits on the wall between the refrigerator and folding doors) X 47.25" long X 36" high. From Home Depot.

I would look for a rolling cart for under the extinguisher - just leave a little space ( 4-6") away from the louvered door. Then it is easy to slide out of the way or even over the laundry door when not in use.

For the other wall, I agree with @lisedv; get a small pantry cabinet that can go below the light switch, then hang a floating shelf just above the switch

Also - can the washer dryer be slid to one side or the other a little more? It looks like you may have room alongside of it for mops and brooms

Regarding a rolling cart under the fire extinguisher, I read your dimensions as being only 20 inches wide so you'd have space for a very small rolling cart which I think would clutter a small area that's already busy with doors more than being practical.

Store the doors for the W/D closet in the Hvac closet. put a curtain if you dont want to look at it that will give you a lot more clearance. I sould simply put a book case of sorts and do some DIY to make it look cute.

The doors cannot be removed. The folding laundry door does not open into the corner space, it just opens flush to the side. I’ll try to find a picture if I can. Nothing can be stored in the HVAC/water heater area or in front of it as it needs air circulation - that would be a fire hazard. The washer drier may be able to get another 5-6 inches on the side which would help.

I like RL Relocation's idea to stash the laundry doors in HVAC room so you don't have to deal with them sticking out when you want to access new storage setup. Get some great colorful curtains you can easily pull aside when you do laundry. Keep all your cleaning supplies in there, to give yourself more room under kitchen sink.

--Wall between fridge and HVAC closet: narrow open shelves/bookcase for colorful attractive dishes, glassware, mugs, mixing bowls, etc? The space looks so dim, colorful dishes and bowls will brighten the dim space while it frees up cabinet space.

--sconce wall: add a deep cabinet underneath the light switch. This is another good reason to stow the laundry area doors in HVAC closet. This deep cabinet space will be easier to access without bumping into laundry doors if you have curtains there.

For the wall between the fridge and water heater, I found a rolling island that has a shallow drawer on top, and cabinet doors below, a knife rack on one side and a towel bar on the other. and, on top of all that, an extension across the back that folds down; when up, it could be added work or storage surface or pull up a couple of stools for eating. $20 at a garage sale! My sons covet it for their studio apartments but I’m not giving it up, not yet anyway. (Gee, now I sound selfish, maybe one of them will get it for Christmas.)

I don’t know how wide the opening is, but perhaps something like that. Check out ikea for something. Or, Container Store. You could design your own elfa cart, several widths and heights to choose from, with drawers, side hooks, and a cutting board top. We got one for our old kitchen that had 0” beside the range, squeezing in the 11” drawer stack and wood top was a gamechanger. We liked it so much we have used it in two homes since then, and added one in the current house. The ventilated drawers are good for storing things like potatoes, onions, as well as kitchen items.

Use wall between refrigerator and closet for tall, narrow bookcase with open shelves for attractive tableware, serving pieces, eetc. Ikea's narrowest Billy bookcase is only 15" wide but quite tall. This one isn't a Billy but gives you an idea of how it could look.

Something can come out from that 20” wall, like a narrow island cart or even a low bookcase, shelves on either side, which gives you a bit more storage but also a surface. Command hooks on the wall above for some things? How wide is the opening to the kitchen? Is there room for a 24” or 36” something?
