Depends what you want to spend. But I have one I cuddle under nightly, put one on a clients sofa and SHE LOOOOOVES.

My family loves the barefoot dreams throws-- my mom especially likes it because it is soft but alo very lightweight. I am sitting with one now-- it isnt my favorite but it is nice.

MY favorite is an ugg blanket/throw my sister gave me a few years ago. I don't know whch one it is but it is furry and is soooo soft! It is a heftier weight but I like that.

2 of my friends love the Chappy Wrap throws ... they come in many designs but i havent tried them

You need to define "casual" because the MOST common use of furry throws is indeed very casual!!!! That said?> Get a Pottery Barn and do NOT agonize: ) Pick a color!

I was recently the recipient of a Barefoot Dreams throw and robe. It was a lovely, thoughtful gift. I have found the weight to be a little heavy for me. Another thing, my cat was sleeping on the throw and I notice a couple of snags beginning.

Ballard Designs is my go-to when gift shopping. They have a good product, nice prices, nice finish details ...like fringe...something I would like to get as a gift....dry clean only. Link

It would depend on what I wanted the gift to convey. I have a ton from HG. I find fleece the warmest. I have a Garnet Hill cashmere with fringe I just love, and then I have some cotton ones that are local in Maine.

Meanwhile, someone must buy this! I love throws packaged this way, andin this case a beachblanket. How CUTE is this?

That throw is a Perfect gift for a summer birthday!

I may be the outlier but I really dislike the feel of synthetic fleece against my skin. I occasionally wear a piece in outerwear - DH has some pullovers that I've put on when I'm cold or desperate.

My throws are all cotton and washable. I had one Pendleton in wool and got so tired of the dry cleaning expense - it was white. I washed it. It had looked better dry cleaned.

I love the Sferra 'Celine' throws, have a few, and see that Bloomingdale's and Macy's have them on special right now. I have one Ralph Lauren, fringed, with an old world pattern on it. Another favorite is almost twin bed quilt sized - is quilted - that I've had many years. It came from a catalog I used to receive that carried 'french country' looks and is something of a paisley print. That one I especially enjoy and would buy more if available, I can tuck it under my feet when 'borrowing' DH's big TV chair and still pull it all the way up to my chin 😊

You might check out the Sferra in cotton for ease in care at approx $75 holiday sale price. I don't know how many of the colors might be included at that price. Great quality.

Bates Mill Store has some nice cotton throws but some items have a longer lead time so your selection may be limited if you need it for the holidays.

American Blanket Co has my favorite fleece/plush blankets. Ours have been washed so many times. Still look perfect and we have had them for over 5 years.

I also have a cotton blanket from the same company, for less cold months.

I have an older PB faux fur blanket that I love. No idea if newer ones are as nice but I have had mine for at least 7 years.

I wanted a furry blanky for ”my” sofa in a lighter color so I asked for one from Cozy Earth for Christmas. I think it is over $150, though.

I gave a Chappy Wrap blanket to DD’s BF last year (their apt had a lousy heating system) — they have a lot of designs. I also have one at our beach house.

I may have a blanket addiction. But I would definitely recommend American Blanket.

All I can say is, take into account if there are pets in the home, and choose a material/texture that won't be easily prone to having fur embed into the blanket.

It is for this reason that I have a pair of the smooth (and inexpensive) lightweight fleece throws from Ikea. Wash nicely, have been durable for several years, but run smaller (and less luxurious) than what you are looking for.

If this is not too inexpensive for you, my sister owns at least 8 of these. She keeps them in the bedrooms as extra cover, but she also brings them into the den for watching TV. Although they are below your price range, they do not read as ”cheap.” She got hers when there was a better selection of colors, although the sage she has is a nice color. She also has dark taupe and beige, I think.

I was at Pottery Barn earlier today and they had a whole wall full of lovely throws, 30% off too. Very soft. I was trying to justify purchasing a new throw, but I have too many already so I left without one.

LL Bean has a sherpa throw that gets great reviews and comes in x-large. Several reviewers commented on their 6 ft plus spouse loving the length. Comes in plaids on the non-sherpa side and is washable.

This is for my nephew and through the grapevine I heard that he wanted the Ugg throw. 🤷‍♀️
When I was told he wanted a throw, I looked at the Ugg, but figured I could pick any nice throw and came here to get some great suggestions, which I did.

Not my choice, if I were to choose, but I did buy the one he wanted. So he will be very surprised to see it.

Guess what I got delivered today?……………wait for it……. An Ugg Throw! At first I thought I made a mistake and had it delivered to the wrong address, but then I said to myself, I didn’t order that color. Confused I looked at the return address and then said to myself, I didn’t order from there. Did some more investigating and found a small slip of paper. I just got an Ugg throw as a Christmas Gift from an Aunt 😂 she must have been sensing I needed to purchase one. Just so weird. Every year she buys me a Waterford crystal ornament and this year an Ugg blanket. Hey maybe she is following me on this thread 🤣

The Houzz glitches have hit me. I can post if I do it IN my account activity, which means I can only post in threads I participated in before the glitches. If I click the bell notification it takes me to the forum and the thread but I get kicked out.

Houzz promptly replied to my email about it but I haven't heard a thing since I answered their questions about the issue yesterday.

Our temporary home does not have many throws so I bought one at HG. It is cream, with a self design. It remind me of old fashioned floral chenille bedspreads

My husband decided he wanted a heated, super soft, twin sized blanket. Found one by Beautyrest. This was a purchase you need to see in person. They put aluminum coated plastic sheets inside some of these. They crinkle....make a horrible noise when they move. We went around crunching blankets until we found one that was silent. 😂Anyone buying heated? Be aware of the filling.
