Maybe, push peninsula even further back to give more space within. keep chairs with people out of walk way. need panel on right side of microwave hood. Keep same spacing on both sides of window to keep balanced symmetry around window. Stoves that close to corner is not ideal. make sure fillers in corner are wide enough so drawers don't hit handles

I don't understand how cutting a hole in that wall will "open things" or why you'd want to do that. You have some good wall space there for added counters/storage. Is there no place else to eat other than the kitchen? If you cut it out, your paint will also have to work with the living room. I would try to leave the tile alone and work with it to determine paint color. Not sure your cabinetry will paint up very well; the grain will be difficult to cover.

The master plan as shown was how we have it today and I wake my husband up every morning going in and out of our bathroom. To answer your question about the coat closet, there is one near the stairs for guests. Yes, we are too far along to move the stairs....and trust me, we've moved it around several times and worked and reworked our plan over the last 6-9 months. We are also limited by our lot. Only small changes from this point on. The kitchen & breakfast area are where I'm trying to determine if there is a better option. I know we have a lot of dining spaces....but what I initially wanted was a small breakfast eating area (to accommodate a round table for 4) for daily family usage and larger dining for entertaining. Well, I ended up with a much larger breakfast eating area.

Older homes, for all their charm and grace, can be tough due to the chopped up spaces. It is a little hard to visualize the floorplan from the photos. If you have a measured floor plan (graph paper or computer generated) I think you will get lots of responses. Also good to know up front what your goals and general budget is ($20k, $50k, $100k, infinite?). Like, if you have a growing juicing hobby and need massive fresh food storage, or maybe you bake cakes as a side biz and need two ovens plus room to decorate them.
