How complicated are you trying to make it? The credenza could hold liquor and have a tray on top with rocks glasses and an ice bucket, then get four club chairs and a coffee table. Or the whole wall where the credenza is now could be built out with a front and back bar, built in banquet along the whole window wall, a couple chairs and cocktail tables facing the banquet.

Really just looking for furniture ideas, not doing any buildout. I thought about 4 club chairs or swivel chairs but wasnt sure how it would look if the chairs partially blocked the entry into the kitchen.

So you'll eat every meal, no matter the event, in the kitchen? I'd rather see you convert the dining area to a library/dining area.

@BeverlyFLADeziner no the dining room is in the front of the house. Photo #4 has the best view… we have purchased a table since these photos were taken.

Could you post a thumbnail floor plan with all dimensions? Start with overall width and depth of room. Then start in the corner and measure every inch. When you measure the windows, include the frames, so the wall space is indicated.

Also on the window behind the sofa, indicate the sill height, window with frame height and frame to ceiling moulding.

The pics are beautiful, but in order to make sure lounge chairs fit and traffic pattern through the room works, all the floor plan dimensions are needed.

Truly, with a club chair layout, there will be no direct walkthrough. You don’t need it! These pieces are a little too large in scale for your space — but correct in style — wood frame accent/high contrast print, circular coffee table — the rug is a little dated in color/style but elegant effect!

One more idea, just quickly, and this is a little devilish ❤😈

In general, not a fan of all-fabric furniture — have ADDED metal or wood accents for clients — too bedroom-y for me, and hard to tie together a look — but this style is WORTH IT (and you could find similar for about 1500).

You’d really have to work with it—ok caveats begone! Play with ideas and remember, have FUN ❤️

Most important question, how many people will actually be using the space at once on a daily basis?

Would two chairs suffice and could double as a comfy reading room as well. An ottoman/coffee table will add comfort placed close to the chairs and improve flow. Could always bring in a few chairs from dining room when needed, so as nor to interfere with flow on a daily basis. I’d also try to define it as more of a destination vs a walk through by painting (even the ceiling).

@Maureen thats what i was debating, two vs four chairs. Thanks for the examples! I do agree that the space needs to be defined, I think a rug and moving/removing the existing light figure will help.

Since you mentioned it's a main walkway, is there enough room for 4 chairs? Will it be awkward to have to walk around them to enter the living area plus get to the DR?

@kcooz07 the room is 11’ x 13’ so i think there would be enough room but it would depend on the size of the chairs

I assume 11’ wide…not a lot of wiggle room. Perhaps weigh room's level of usage vs frequency of having to manoeuvre around on a daily basis. Maybe tape out approximate location and you’ll soon know if practical along with its visual effect.

Perhaps try the set up below but with sets of chairs facing each other and you might get a 3’ corridor.

Added a chair from another room to see how deep 4 chairs would be and i think theres still plenty of space for a walkway. The opening is 64” and the tape measure marks the halfway point.
