habjolokia, In my opinion, it's definitely one worth growing. It goes by many names like Christmas Bell, Bishops Hat, etc. See link below. It has some heat and a crisp tangy flavour. This is likely to be a form of Salvia lyrata with more purple foliage than normal. In spite of flower pictures which you find on some sites, it is grown mostly for its ornamental leaves. The flowers are really insignificant, and sometimes do not open at all. It will seed itself around a bit. Robin.
