Comments (11)I found a thread on GW that has a picture of a white octagonal mosaic with burgundy accents, scroll down until you see the picture. I think you are going to need to incorporate some of the elements already in the bathroom, and the tile trim color seems the most logical to carry through to the floor either with an accent in burgundy, or if you could find a burgundy floor tile- tile the entire floor with it. Here is a link that might be useful: octagonal tile with burgundy trim...See Morefinished bathroom - sleek & modern master bath!
Comments (59)We used two of the lights - one over each sink. We did another bathroom in that house (we've since moved) - that bathroom was 5'x8', and we used one of the Artemide lights. It was plenty bright enough in there! We had the lights on a dimmer, which was really nice. Yes, our contractor built out a soffit above the medicine cabinets. It wasn't my first choice for how to do it, but it ended up looking really good. I wanted to recess the cabinets, but the Ikea ones are not made to do that, and the finish details were too complicated to make it work. So we decided on the soffit, which was much simpler. I wouldn't hesitate to do it the same way again....See MoreBathroom vanity undermount sink shape advice, under cabinet lighting
Comments (3)Ikea vanity looks really nice. Thanks for sharing. We looked at vanities from Wayfair, AllModern, Ikea, etc., but opted to work with a local woodworker. It felt good to support a neighborhood artisan. When we come up for air we'll have him craft built-ins and purchased add'l Walnut with that in mind. At this point the Brio valves are roughed in for the shower and wall mount lav faucet so there's no turning back. To clarify, my question is when pairing an undermount sink with a wall mounted faucet and 24x20 countertop for use in a master bath - what's the most functional shape or is there no discernible difference?...See MoreCreative design ideas for modern bungalow bathroom?
Comments (25)Thanks (and beautiful bathroom!) @cpartist, that looks like the same Daltile cove base tiles we're planning to use (with B&W Tile green subway tiles since no one else makes jade green anymore, apparently!) Heritage Tile does but then you'll pay for it. Also there are other brands that carry green tile. However most companies that do make green tile are a heck of a lot more expensive than what I paid for my white subway tile. I know because I did look into possibly doing a color in the guest bath. Wasn't worth it to me! Does the Daltile black work decently with the Heritage tile black? The Heritage floor tile is a flat black and the white is slightly less white but it all works beautifully together and looks authentic. Even though my house is brand new, I was going for an authentic look of a house from 1910-1925 period. So yes, just like it would have one century ago. And is your trim 1/2" pencil liner? (I ordered 1/4" liner from B&W but still wonder if we should have just stuck with the 1/2" Daltile so that it would match the trim...oh, well!) Yes my trim is the 1/2" pencil liner. And I absolutely would have stuck with the same color liner as your trim color. Blacks from different companies can wind up being different, just as whites or any other color can. BTW: Signature Hardware makes glass pulls and knobs in a jade green color. I used Platinum grout color for my bathroom. I wanted a tint of gray but not so dark as to take away from the tiles....See MoreRelated Professionals
