Driveway turnaround area finish ideas

last month

Yellow fellow Houzzers! We have largely finished our landscaping around the house but still have the area in front of our garage connecting to the driveway that isn’t finished. It used to be covered in brick pavers but when we underwent our house Reno, the dumpsters and construction destroyed most of the thin pavers. So one idea could be to go back to a chevron or diagonal style brick paver but we wanted something that would be durable and beautiful.

For context, we have flagstone patios in the front and back (lots of bluestone mixed in with greys/some earth tones). Style throughout the front and back yard is English garden.

A few ideas:

  1. stamped concrete - this may be our first choice for durability and also cost (less than stone or brick pavers) and also can hold up if cars go over it, tire marks, oil spills etc

  2. English pea gravel - we had drawn out a design where brick pavers would create a diamond pattern and then fill in between the diamonds with gravel. Lots of old English homes have gravel driveways. Downside here is gravel moves a lot and is unstable (and will get crushed over time). Love the look, though.

  3. just concrete to match the rest of the long driveway.

Would welcome any thoughts here! Thanks in advance
