Want to update my dining room-suggestions please
Comments (9)Hi juliekcmo. I'm procrastinating right now, so here I am, on GW. I'm sure I'll get motivated to find the painting supplies that are packed away in the basement soon... So, that room is really nice. The one thing that immediately hits me is the need for curtain panels. If the color is a keeper (you know how hard it is to actually convey the true color in a photo) I might play with the idea of curtains that are closet to the wall color, so they add texture but yet not add another color. That's where I'd start. I think a rug would really be nice in there too. And since you have to move the table anyway when Thanksgiving comes It would be easy to roll it up (take it to the carpet place nearby and have it cleaned during that time) and then put it back after the holidays all nice and fresh. Sort of like a little spa time for the rug. ;) Then, maybe a new chandy. It can act as a piece of art in the room. You can also add one of those faux plaster thingamajigs on the ceiling where the chandy goes. Medallion, that's it. Faux plaster medallion. That really would give your ceiling more interest. Well, I guess I better go find the blue painters tape and get my project moving.......See MoreDining room dilemma...continued.
Comments (7)In choosing between the black and metal chandeliers, I'd definitely choose the first black one with the down-turned globes. The up-turned globes are harder to clean. Also, have you considered just removing the shades on your current chandelier? It looks black in the picture and it has a nice shape....See MoreHaving trouble picking fabrics for my dining room
Comments (47)JD, I'm trying to update and freshen up my dining room. I'm not generally planning to change the furniture. I could do something different other than recover the parsons chairs if it would make sense. I know that china cabinets are not "in", but I've redone what I'm displaying in mine and like it so much better!...See MoreNeed help choosing new rugs, update dining room
Comments (3)I would like suggestions for rugs - 5 foot round for foyer and 9' X 11' rectangle for dining room. budget is up to $1000 for both. Preferably rug colors that would allow me to keep the stair carpet but move toward a lighter, color for the foyer and dining room rugs. Also I would like suggestions for drapes and fabric for chairs for dining room. Budget for that would be around $500....See MoreRelated Professionals
