To the comment asking why are you installing vinyl tile and not real tile. I wanted to say this, I have had a house full of "real" tile floors in the kitchen, bath, etc., I was in my 30s then and my knees got sore from standing on that hard tile floor cooking dinner after a long day at work and they were really cold in the winter. I have since lived in a house with "luxury" vinyl plank and tile flooring. They are so comfortable, the dog can stand and run on them and they don't scratch. They look beautiful AND unless you really look hard, you can't tell that they are not real wood. The ones in the kitchen are grouted. They look and feel like real stone and my knees don't hurt standing on them--and my glassware and dishes don't break if they happen to hit the floor.

I used some peel & stick (different brand) for my kitchen backsplash as a temporary solution while saving for a kitchen remodel. That was 5 years ago and they're still holding strong; no tile failure. We're finally moving forward with the aforementioned remodel and have to say, those tiles are a bear to get off!

Just a clarification, there is the structural floor sheathing (on top of joists), then a thinner subfloor which would go on top of that. If you have used OSB as your subfloor, you do not put peel-n-stick vinyl tiles directly to OSB. You also do not lay cheap luan plywood down to stick your tiles to. You can simply read the manufacturer directions for the tile you are choosing and they will say this. But the peel-n-stick does stick to real plywood or APA rated subfloor (e.g. sanded and glues that accept wetness). You will need to apply a bond enhancer (like Henrys) specifically made for self-stick tile. Again, your chosen tile installation instructions will indicate this. Don't forget to overbuy for the future replacement pieces.
