I'm not sure what programs are available for a MAC Book, but I do know ages ago when home computer were starting to pick up that MACs were the thing to get if you were into graphics/art, so hopefully someone will reply that knows more than I do. My daughter only has MACs, but that's one thing she and I are very different on. I don't think she's drawn (in any form) anything since she was a child unless she had to for school.

Just a few suggestions: 1) keep roof light for solar reflectivity- dark roofs will increase heat gain in you attic and potentially increase utility bills 2a) create an illusion of symmetry at your entry with a large planter with something of interest & color in it, under the front door light. The goal is balance through overall composition of that entry area. Many of the windows and garage doors are not centered - it’s the theme of your exterior 2b) paint the stair’s rise (not the step) that lead to the front door. yes i know it’s odd but if you paint the rise and the door the same subtle color it will also help creat the balance you are striving for. i would soften the entry look with stain glass in the window above the door. The stain glass needs circular shapes verses cubical shapes, and complimentary color. Be careful not to make it the focal point because it will draw your eye to the asymmetry of your exterior even more. Needs to blend and compliment the front door and planter 3a) add landscapes lighting in the outer edge of the landscape bed to the left of the walk way (between landscaping and grass ) as you are looking at the house. This should help create a sense of balance as well 3b) at the walkway’s entry flare the landscape bed to the left 3c) the left corner of the house’s landscaping needs something with height 4) all the above suggestions are from a buget friendly approach. Making any large construction changes will create a domino effect and lead to other expensive exterior facade changes that you didn’t notice before construction. Yes your exterior is asymmetrical but its still attractive and consistent. i looks right for the build of the home.

Ok, well if you're able to pick your materials, then start yourself a 'mood' board. order samples from each company so you'll have them on hand. (stone, brick, roof samples, etc) even the cedar. Get some small cedar pieces/boards w/the stain or the varnish you plan on using. (Cedar will naturally gray if you do NOT apply a UV varnish to it) once your have the ones you like, THEN you pick your house color. it's easier to match paint to brick and stone than vice versa. I see what you're after. Take a look at these SW dark green colors they did on board and batten https://www.brickandbatten.com/green-exterior-house-colors/ SW Cascades: This is Agean Olive Black w/the wood and lighter stone accents. Black windows. you could even do a creamier or white wash brick. here's one w/a lighter sage siding and gray/gree shutters Lighter sage colors If you want a light stone w/warmer tones to it (to play w/the cedar) try something like this one Any of these colors would get you that look another lighter stone w/bits of the warm tones If you want to stay w/the green tones, for the white trim, use a white that leans toward the green end of the color wheel so it works w/your green siding. If you like cooler greens/gray with a grayish/silver tone stone: for example, this Alaska white quartzite ledger panel accents would work w/these cooler tones. This color palette below would be perfect for that Alaska White Or, even this one. you see how the green tones lean a little cooler? The White Limestone in this format is also really nice as an example, that stone, or similar stone, might look nice w/this color green, white windows and a lighter, tan roof. the darker cedar plays well w/all of it. There are so many variations of stone combined w/roof and windows, that choosing a green color should actually come last. So, get yourself your samples and start building from that.

Mark - I read your Scotman’s joke as I was taking a drink of water - bad timing 😂 One thing I regret is that I didn’t add more windows to some rooms - for example, my study. I have a center hall colonial - with a study off to the left of the foyer when entering the house - similiar to yours. Even though the wall of the study that faces the front of the house has two large windows (eastern exposure), I still wish I had added another window on the north wall. As a study/office, you don’t need to worry about losing the wall for furniture placement (even if you did, you could make it a transom style window). I was worried about blocking too much natural light in my family room when I had plans drawn for adding a covered porch a couple years ago. The main windows for the room (three windows - approx 80”x 33” each) would all be located underneath the width of the new roof extension (+ the southern facing single lite glass door out to the patio would also be underneath the new roof). I knew that it would be very helpful during the summer (back of house has a western facing orientation - obviously, I knew nothing back when I was 25 re: selecting the right lot/building a house) - but worried about cloudy days during other seasons - especially winter (I did not want to need to use any form of artificial light before sunset). The roof is over twice as deep as your porch (13 -14’) - and I still have plenty of natural light (my family room is a little bit larger than your study - 16.4’ wide x 19.7’ deep). While the room benefits from some light filtering in from a tall window located on the landing of open switchback staircase along one wall, the windows located under the patio roof would still provide plenty of natural light even if the staircase was closed. Do NOT get rid of your porch! I love porches - I actually am trying to convince my SO that we need a front porch that wraps around the side of the house to the back patio!
