Thanks for posting this. I'll have a very similar arrangement, but the range to the left of the small counter run will be a 36" six burner Culinarian, and I won't have the Miele regular oven in between -just the Chef Series Speed Oven and 30" trim kit above, and the warming drawer below. Looks very nice!

Marques that have solid/ reliable performers for all 3 in no particular order: Wolf Miele Monogram Electrolux if you really have the swag - Gaggenau You should be aware that many warming drawers can be totally concealed, and would allow you to mix and match brands somewhat without the aesthetic dilemma. There are also microwave drawers which might give you some more flexibility.

schicksal, thanks for your help. You're right, our KD checked with her installers (different from the installer we're using) and they confirmed that the drawer front is supposed to have a routed space on the back of the panel, and that's what the metal lip fits into. Our KD missed that it's supposed to have a routed space and thus didn't specify that to the cabinet maker, and looking over the Miele specifications, I can't really blame her. The dotted line above is supposed to be the routed passage. That's rather vague, and I'm not sure how one would know that without having dealt with such a drawer before. Miele should really make that clearer. xedos, I'm not sure why you're assuming that we're working with inexperienced, scatter brained imbeciles. The cabinet was designed and fabricated correctly. The drawer panel is exactly the correct size as specified by Miele, minus the routed passage as I just explained. You are correct in that the metal backer is installed onto the drawer front in the wrong spot, but given the installation instructions provided by Miele, and the fact that the drawer wasn't routed, there's no other way the installer could have installed the drawer front. Thus he realized the problem, contacted our KD, she contacted her installers, and now it's resolved. While I would love for everyone to be perfect and never make mistakes, and would certainly love to be perfect myself, I understand that mistakes happen. It's how people and companies deal with and resolve those mistakes that differentiates the good from the bad.

Not at all, but keep in mind that this was six years ago and models have changed. I wanted one with a wide temperature range. That is, a low under 100° F. for plate warming and dough rising, and a high over 200° for holding a dense pot at piping hot (at that temperature it's still cooking, slowly, so good for stews and the like, not for roasts). I also wanted a cabinet panel and a lever vent. Originally, I was going to give up the panel to get the open sides of the Gaggenau, which matched my ovens, though wouldn't be stacked with them. There was a huge price hike, though, and I decided on the Monogram, which had all the features I wanted, including the panel, plus a free standing partial rack for extra plates and a free set of rails with buffet warmers, just not the open sides. The sides have never been an issue. 30" is wide so getting things in and out is really easy. And warming drawers really don't get hot enough to burn if you touch them. I should have said above, "if there's a fan running to cool the electronics" and it's going to bother you, to get another model. It might not bug you at all, though I see the potential. And I don't know if it vents to the front rather than into the cabinet, if it exists at all. Before you make any choices, do try to see some in showrooms where they're operational so you can get a sense of how it really works. If that's not possible, read the manuals and keep asking more questions.
