We need a lot more info. Are you keeping the furniture , what do you NEED to have in the space ? We need a to scale floor plan showing every window, doorway where those lead every measurement clearly marked usually best done on graph paper . Then posted here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post . All things related to this space are now dealt with in comments here . If the furniture stay swe need those measurements also

THis is a little too open-ended. Have you searched this site for family room photos? Which ones appeal to you? Create an ideabook here with photos you like and use them as inspiration.

What do you want to use the room for? That’s the starting point when designing a room.

I would get a card/game table and hopefully the TV mount allows for pulling forward and swiveling for Pizza or passive TV watching while doing a puzzle or watching something. Why the new floor? Vinyl will demand two large area rugs.

They looks like an open space behind part of the sectional. I would add a game table and chairs. Other options….add a game table…..fire place and two lounge chairs…… bar area

Do you mean you're getting new furniture for the open space behind the sectional or new furniture for the entire room?

I'm presuming you'll want a TV in the room but what else would you like in the room? what are your needs?

shift the sofa down, it doesnt have to be centered to the tv, then you could bring the recliner into the space a little more, this would also help create more space around the sliding doors. and balance the room out a little more. I would think then with the leftover space you could still keep a play area behind the L part of the sofa. center the sofa between the two windows.

This space will be used for watching TV and entertaining. I love the idea of moving the couch down I never thought of that..

So now we know that you want it for watching TV and entertaining. Who will use the room? How many children? How big is the room--length/width/door and window dimensions, adjoining rooms? Post a plan with the dimensions. It looks big enough for more than watching TV, but who knows? A game table would be a good idea if you play games. A bar is nice but do you need that? This is a guessing game still.

Family tv watching can make use of lounging with sectionals and large ottomans.

I don't have any dimensions and just going by RL Relocation LLC floor plan not knowing how precise this is ...

- A large sectional

- 2 sofa tables with ottomans for extra seating

- A reading corner

- A TV wall unit
