I just wanted to say I have used the same 3M hook on the vinyl siding by my front door for well over a year now to hang wreaths and straw hats (depending on season). It is under the porch so not in the rain but definitely in the cold zone 6. The Christmas wreath is pretty heavy too. No problem so far. I cleaned it well before installing and it was warm then. I don't know if it will remove clean but I have no plans to take it down anyway. I wasn't willing to make a hole in my vinyl siding either.

Those were the same hooks that I used. When I used them, I first put the adhesive side on my wooden letters and let that sit for sometime to give the adhesive a chance to stick, and then I removed the other side of the adhesive and stuck it to the wall. I put a pillow under the letters on the floor in case they fell. I did have problems with one letter where I did not wait after putting the adhesive to the letter and that letter fell on the pillow. I tried subsequently to get it to work, but it kept falling so I used a new strip, giving it that wait period and since then none of the letters have fallen. Because of this I also needed to remove the strip from the wall which is similar to the Command Hooks which I've used on my fireplace for Christmas stockings. You just need to pull on the bottom tab in a vertical downward direction really slowly so the tab does not break and there was absolutely no wall damage. I will say I'd be a tad nervous about using them on antique plates...esp because the back of the plate is smooth so I'd be particularly careful to give it perhaps even an hour for the strip to adhere to the plate before getting the other side to adhere to the wall and I'd definitely put pillows below for one day as from my experience, if it's going to fall, it will fall in the first hour/day. The other nice thing about these strips, is that you can pull the up the velco and remove the object from the wall, make any slight readjustments, clean, whathaveyou, and reattach the velco strips to one another.

Here's a weird one. I just had my house vinyl-sided and would like to use one of these 3M Command adhesive hangers to hold up a few guide wires for my clematis to climb up! I don't want to puncture holes in my siding! But does 3M make these hooks to work outdoors? I guess there is a water-resistant one that folks like that I can try. What do you all think? Any suggestions helpful.

Where did you all get the software to change the look of this house? That is a great program and I would love to be able to do that and try different things. I like the idea of landscaping around this house. What a difference it made. My house is in need of some work around the front also. I bought some stuff from a wrought iron website for the outside of my home. A welcome sign, house numbers and some small trellises for my garden flowers. Also I bought wrought iron hooks - kinda like s hooks that I could hang plants from for my side porch. The wrought iron does not take away from the plants because it is so dark it just blends in yet when someone really looks they can see how beautiful the hangers are instead of just white hangers or yarn hangers or something. It adds to the beauty of my home subtley and that is just what I was looking for. There was a site that had everything I needed. Now my place looks nice but I need some flowers, plants etc for the front.
