Moen now pushing Bronzed Gold over Brushed Gold?

It seems like this year Moen has been releasing more and more products in the Bronzed Gold color instead of Brushed Gold. Bronzed Gold appears to look more similar to Delta's Champagne Bronze, while Moen's Brushed Gold is a brighter gold with a slight pink undertone.

I wonder if the reason for pushing Bronzed Gold over Brushed Gold was due to the difficulty customers were having in matching hardware with their Brushed Gold finish. I know based on previous experiences on these forums that many users had difficulty matching hardware with Moen's Brushed Gold finish. I wonder if the reason for pushing Bronzed Gold instead is to better align with what is available from most hardware manufacturers.

Maybe. but if you look at the Moen gold faucet webpage, you see that most bronzed gold products are destined to the retail and online markets while the brushed gold products are not. (The brushed gold faucets are available on build.com. The bronzed gold Meena is also on build.com but note the delivery time; its inclusion may be an error). The list prices of the bronzed gold products are much lower; perhaps manufacturing costs are also lower.

Well now just one more goofy finish everyone will make themselves crazy trying to match , I pray this gold thing goes away soon .

@ raehelen, Thank you, and YES, I am soooo happy that the granite/BS search is behind me!! LOL @ jancy, the cabinet color that I chose was Coffee Clutch. The code for the color is D1-7. I have read of many others using Bittersweet Chocolate by BM and Black Bean by SW. But, the Coffee Clutch looked great to me at Ace, so I chose it. I did have to sand the cabinets to rough them up, and I primed them with a tinted primer first. I think I used Zinser 123. The cabinet and trim paint goes on really nice. I just brushed it on and it went on nice and smooth. Almost smooths itself out. Just use long strokes and plan on 2 coats. It dries hard and shiny. I did not have to poly over it. I painted them over a year ago and they've held up beautifully! The other nice thing was that the wood grain still shows through. It came out really well. Don't be afraid... go for it!! :)

why don't you go see them in person? as long as they are close, it should look fine once you get the shower curtain hung. these are a bit diff but I believe the Champagne is quite a bit different. look for more of a gold tone if matching the Delta brushed gold Delta/Moen Didi you see this champagne one from Wayfair? Both the Champagne Bronze Delta faucets and the Brizo stainless steel faucets we bought were above the cost of what you could get a standard faucet for in stainless steel with a traditional design. However, we were able to maximize discounts by shopping online for the lowest prices which sometimes involve a percentage off discount sale since Delta/Brizo and other brands put a cap on how low resellers can advertise the list prices. Also be aware that some faucets being ordered online right now are being delayed weeks out due to lower capacities in manufacturing and shipping delays due to the pandemic. Our faucet order placed last week is projected to arrive in 3 weeks. If cost is a big concern, maybe the polished nickel might be a compromise after all, but again, polished nickel is frequently higher in cost than stainless steel, so if it was the gold/brass color you really wanted, then polished nickel is only getting you halfway to that goal for an increased cost anyway.

My guess it’s just a marketing decision to set them apart and provide another alternative.

As far as "this gold thing" ... it has always been around and will never go away!

It is critical to these industries that finishes appear "dated" within a decade in order to justify ripping them out and replacing them. You can expect a never-ending stream of the "new hot look". I expect avocado green and harvest gold to cycle back any year now.
