Thanks for the rec! With Only Murders over, DWTS and GBBO almost over and all caught up on Cruising the Cut (and burning out on ”Christmas Prince“-type movies) we need a new series.

I just heard about this from my friend today. I'm considering getting Netflix. I had it years ago but never watched it. It was only movies back then and they never seemed to have anything new. But now that they produce their own content, I think it's a lot better.

When I heard the description of this it reminded me of a documentary we'd watched a few years back. Turns out it is a spinoff of that, Mole Agent. Good movie/documentary.

Looking forward to watching this. In the meantime Im watching the latest season of The Great British Baking Show.

ded, we're watching GBBS, too. I can see any of them winning, but any one person can have a bad day and lose. But I love Dylan.

The GBBS is the only cooking or baking competition show that I will watch. I often have favorites but usually root for all of them. I think Dylan will win this year.

Netflix has a TON of content these days. It is probably worth checking out again. Right now I have one of the Mariah Carey Christmas concerts playing.

Dylan is capable of having a very bad week, but then he can be brilliant. Did you know that he was only 20 when this was filmed.

Netflix is also behind The Thursday Murder Club, which should be out next fall. That should be great.

I didnt realize the last elisode of GB S wansnt out yet. Finished all but that one. Of those left, I could never choose.

Started Man On The Inside, and I can tell its a winner. I saw Ted interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning ( I think). Theres also an excellent episode of Fresh Air where Terry interviews the writer.

British Baking has only one episode left on this year's season. It drops on Netflix on Friday.

I love GBBS and have a crush on Dylan.

We are watching The Bear on Hulu, slowly (no spoilers please ... we are just midway on Season 2!) It can be hard work but is so worth it. Some of it is harrowing and difficult, but you get so attached to the characters ... all of them.. and root for them. But I didn't really understand what the storyline was until Episode 7!

My GBBS favorite was Jill and I was sorry to see her go as she is the only objective contestant this season. Some have been pessimistic and some have displayed false modesty but all of them—except her —exude ”I’m special” from every pore. I just hope Georgie does not win; she’s almost as much of a drama queen as Candace, a previous winner.

Love Man on the Inside, and it does have a whiff of the good place about it.

I am enjoying The Diplomat, too. But Alisande, you must not have curly hair. We curly hair folk can't brush with any amount of success!! It just doesn't work that way. ;)

Bluebell, I was going to say "comb," but then I realized I haven't used a comb since I stopped wearing my hair long. Keri Russell's hair doesn't look curly to me, at least not in this show. It's just stringy, which is part of the plot. She has permanent bedhead. lol

Yeah, permanent bedhead is a good way to describe it. Maybe it's a wig? I can't tell for sure. Even when I straighten my hair, I can't comb it later or it fuzzes up. (Maybe it's just me. I've always wanted a buzz cut but don't have the guts!)

Remember Keri’s hair in Felicity? Major springy curls! What happened to them?

I agree that she looks like she needs to have her hair brushed in The Diplomat. I haven’t gotten too far in the series, so maybe she brushes her hair later.

Loved The Diplomat. We took a leave of absence from "Homeland" to watch it.

I binged "The Man on the Inside". While I loved the premise and the cast, I thought the plot was rather silly, in a Scooby Do kinda way. Did you know that the show is based on a true story but that in real life, that man on the inside was there to uncover possible elder abuse. Now that would be more interesting, but not very marketable.

As my aunt used to say, her hair looks like she was dragged through a bush backwards!

She’s one of my favorite actresses despite her hair. It was magnificent in Felicity but in a way that befits a younger person who is also not a member of the diplomatic corps.

I watched a few episodes of "The Man on the Inside," and my impression was similar to Jojoco's. I do appreciate Ted Danson as an aging actor in this role, as well as Sally Struthers.

I loved the first 2 seasons of "The Bear," and I'm waiting until xmas break to watch the 3rd with my son.

I don't watch much tv, and so I'm still content slowly making my way through "The Wire" for the second time.

Watching "Man on the Inside," it was fun to see some familiar faces, older version, from shows I haven't thought of in years. I wish I had names to go with the faces. The only one I thought of was Gladys (Susan Ruttan from LA Law).

I also thought Keri Russell was great in "The Americans." I watched the whole series, often thinking how odd it was to find myself rooting for two people who did such horrible things. But then I recalled I had the same sort of experience in the 1960s, reading The Godfather.

I consider The Wire to be the best TV of all time, even better than The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul, all of which I love. I think we may have watched The Wire 5 times through over the years.

As for Man on the Inside, I've watched two episodes and it's very sweet, if not up to the brilliance of The Good Place.

Bookwoman, I agree about The Wire. I have a friend who spent 30 years as an agent in Chicago, mostly working complex drug cases. He worked with informants, politicians, police, drug gangs, etc., and he said The Wire is the most realistic crime show.

We liked The Diplomat first season, but find that we are too far along from it now, and would have to watch the season over to catch up, so we are passing on season 2.

I never did see The Wire, perhaps I will give it a try.

bpath, just be aware that for the first 4 episodes or so you'll be somewhat confused and not know exactly what's going on. It will become clear, though! I also suggest putting on the captions.

Bookwoman, thanks for the tip about captions. I watch a few shows with captions, and DH can’t bear them, and I’m pretty sure he won’t be watching The Wire. DS loved the series.

The Americans was an amazing series. Recently a real-life episode occurred when a Russian family was recalled from, where were they, Germany? Argentina? The poor kids.

I just saw Sally Struthers in something else, and I didn’t recognize her there or in the E1 of Man on the Inside, For MotI, I thought his daughter was not well-acted at all. And, having been through the senior living process a few times with family members, that process was written by someone who has never done it themselves, or else just to hurry up and establish the circumstance so we can get on with the series. I’m looking forward to E2, all the same.

I just started watching tonight and didn't know anything about it, but have enjoyed it so far. I had to look up to see if that was Sally Struthers, as I suspected, and was pleasantly surprised to learn it IS her! Nice to see her again. I don't know any of the other actors but Danson, but they are all good.

I think Keri Russell's haphazard hair in The Diplomat is a character trait and not a personal choice. Without giving too much away, there is a running plot line about her indifference to her appearance.

We've watched a few of Man on the Inside. so far so good.

I recognized Sally immediately. Remember it has been since the 70s that we last saw her and so many years have passed. I haven't started watching yet but will tonight because there is nonstop football now in our house for weeks and months and it seems like years to me.
