My favorite Christmas tree is up
Comments (14)Wonderful tree decor, lynne! Yes, fun to re-live the memories as you hang the ornies...(that doesn't sound as good as "ornaments" ...but that's the shortcut I've seen on here.) LOL! PM's idea is great...it is fun to have out old pics ...wherever...I use snow snowflake photo clip-stands & put a few old B&W's from our family Christmas' of DH's side & mine..& I have a old window (from my sis' farmhouse that was torn down) that I put our family pics in from over the years & mount on the wall for the winter season. Love using family pics! Also a fun way is to print a B&W on a "mylar" (clear plastic) a fav pic...cut out circle, wrap around pencil to insert in a glass ball...add a little snow glittery & it's a clear pic in a glass ball! I've done several of those for gifts. Have fun & TFS your family tree! Jeanne S....See MoreMy favorite kitchen gift this Christmas
Comments (45)I'm not trying to be hokey here, but seriously, the best gift I received this year for my kitchen (besides my kitchen!) was having my friends and family IN my kitchen on Christmas. This was our 14th annual hosting of Christmas Day & dinner and just to have all our loved ones gathered around in our new room was so rewarding. My brother (who is a real foodie) said he thought it was our best dinner yet :) Hearing everyone's lovely compliments let us know our planning and hard work has really paid off. Here's hoping the warm glow of the day lasts throughout the New Year!...See MoreClose-up Christmas - wrapping
Comments (46)I'm thoroughly enjoying this post - love Mtn's suitcases and her DH's originality. These are some of the presents DH wrapped, you can see the elegant brown wrapping paper with his custom calligraphy. Notice the large white one? The one covered in paper towels with the crude lettering on the side? He put this under the tree after I went to bed on Christmas Eve and he made sure that it was the last one opened. Under the paper towels was a brown cardboard box with round holes in it from Longfield Gardens, the kind they use to ship flower bulbs. He reminded me not the shake the box and I assumed it was full of bulbs packed in peat and dirt. I thought it a little odd because we had recently planted a hundred or so bulbs and I was not looking forward to planting more in the middle of the winter. I opened the box and it was full of styrofoam peanuts, the kind that fly up and stick to your clothes and hands. My grand daughter immediately dug in and giggled when she discovered that they clung to her arms and belly. There was another, smaller box at the bottom and inside was a beautiful tsavorite necklace and a little note that said he had finally found a birthstone for me that was prettier than the traditional garnet. He was quite pleased (me too) with his little charade....See MoreChristmas Tree Question for 2024
Comments (43)Sherry, that is one huge positive for me, the support for larger, heavier ornaments. I can pretty much put any ornament wherever I want on our artificial tree. We are now on our 2nd artificial tree, downsizing to a smaller one a couple of years ago. Never regretted the decision for a minute. Like several others, I use the Thymes Frasier Fir scented candle when I want to sniff something like real scent. I can also go cut some eastern red cedar branches and put it in a jar for a little help. Yes, i grew up with real trees except for a couple of years when we had that aluminum thing with the rotating illuminating lights....See MoreRelated Professionals
