Thanks all for your comments...a few more details...My style is very traditional...upstairs there are three bedrooms. Two are the kids rooms both decorated in pottery barn kids. Pink flowery pottery Barn kids in one with crystal chandelier and white girls furniture. The other decorated in more blues but pottery barn and still white furniture. Our bedroom is traditional cherry wood, sleigh bed, traditional furniture. Our master bath is or will be black and white theme but vintage black and white not at all modern. We really don't have anything In The modern style in our house..all traditional. The hall bath is really very basic beige so probsbly doesn't fit with glass knobs but don't want to make decision based on the hall bth. Also for ORB I feel like it can mix more easily with other metals like antique brass or even silvery tones but maybe I'm off there?

Hmm.. wonder if the backplates are brass. Bru - I was going to attempt to put them on myself. DH will probably get involved. Neither one of use have put a door knob on though before. My Dad's pretty skilled with stuff like this but he had back surgery last week and I'm sure isn't feeling up to working on it. The knobs should at least fit right? The ones on my door are 2" diameter and I'm pretty sure these are too.

We faced a similar situation with our house (coincidentally also in Florida). It was built in the '70s and had various "upgrades" over the years resulting in a hodgepodge of metal finishes throughout. Mind you, I am a-ok with mixing metals (I actually prefer it to everything matching), but it needs to look cohesive. We ultimately went with satin nickel knobs everywhere. My other options were bronze, but I don't care for the "rubbed" aspect with copper-colored bits showing through (which most seem to have to some extent), or matte black, but I couldn't find an affordable option I liked. So nickel it was. I honestly think any finish would work so long as it's the same on all interior knobs. When all knobs are the same finish, they don't jump out at you so much. (Note: our bathroom fixtures are all chrome, most of our lighting fixtures in the house are dark bronze, and they all play together nicely.)

We used Jeffrey Alexander Durham cabinet knob and the Bremen 2 pulls in satin nickel. Function/Cleaning: Cup pulls weren't going to work for us because I thought they'd get dirty up in the cup area and be hard to clean. We didn't want anything that had protruding parts that would snag on clothing and backpacks, or poke your hip or leg as you walk by. This was important to us bc the kitchen is also the entertainment/great room and there are always tons of people over here and we have a large family. Maybe the snagging issue would not be a big deal for some families. DH thought I was being obsessive choosing on that basis. Some knobs feel sharp around the edges, and some pulls feel sharp in the back or on tops and bottoms of the bar. So we chose some that are softer around the edges. Some knobs didn't have enough clearance for fingers to wrap around when you pull it. People tend to grab the pulls with the fronts of their fingers rather than wrapping their whole hand around it, so the clearance issue wasn't a criteria for us on the pulls. We actually ended up with pulls that were a little shallower than some of the options because I didn't want them sticking out too far. You can hold them up free-hand or screw them into a piece of scrap wood and tug on them to test how they feel. Looks: I'd say the only real rule is that you like them. We didn't want to see the exposed screws on the outside of the cabinet, so we chose ones that the screw goes in from the back. I do like when the finish matches, so picking knobs and pulls from the same company would probably be a good idea if you want to be sure the finish is the same. Size: As far as the sizes, we eye-balled that to get the right proportions with the widths of the drawers, but they ended up about a third of the width of the drawers. 3 of my really large and wide drawers have 2 pulls. If you can't get samples, you can put painter's tape in various sizes on the drawers to figure out what you like. There are so many to choose from you just have to figure out your function issues first (cleaning, snagging, comfort), then go with ones that you find attractive.
