Should I install a ceiling lamp over my dining table as well given it is near the peninsula? Or should I leave recess lighting over the dining table given the apartment’s not too large size. I would matter-of-factly have a ceiling lamp in the living room.

I think wood for a table would be better as you need some varying textures and not comprise the space all of hard surfaces. however the wood table you show seems way to rustic for the kitchen finishes. i think you need something more refined in a mid-tone stain/ color.

You have a great eye Alvaro. I like the table and chairs you posted. They have great variation and texture. I love that they are not refined, create a symbiotic contrast to the stone, and interestingly result in a more lux look. It would be nice to see a drawing of the space with measurements to help determine size and shape of the table.

Honestly - I would not spend the money to add more marble. Trying to add a waterfall on the side by the cooktop won't work since it needs to be a mitered corner so the old top will probably have to be removed to be cut. I would not do it on the back of the peninsula - just too much especially with all the other beautiful items you are selecting to add to the space.

I would do a couple of floating shelves in the wall and then have some great artwork in the rest of the house

The lights and furniture you are looking at is all amazing. I would definitely hold off on any more stone work till you have all of that done first.

It's very difficult to judge precise colours on a computer screen but a soft white would make the beige cabinets stand out more than a beige wall colour. The front of the island looks "whitish" on the picture, I would paint it the same beige as the cabinets.

Can that little strip of side splash be removed? It doesn’t look quite right with your sleek design everywhere else.

Agree with @Wendy H, I would remove the 4 inch backsplash on the peninsula.

Peninsula 3” backsplash will effectively be removed. Should I add stone waterfall to wall peninsula?

You can see the two versions side by side below, I would leave it as is, no 2nd waterfall.

I think it looks more open and inviting without the stone on the end of the wall run of cabinets. With stone on both ends it makes your kitchen look like a skinny bowling alley.

As mentioned in my option visual on adding stone at the end of the counter, I agree with Kendrah it just doesn't look good.

Removing it would be a hassle and risky. Appreciate the input. I will leave it as such. I wish I would have done the waterfall on the wall side of the peninsula but was trying to save money by not having to purchase another slab of stone. In guessing that side would need to be a mitered corner as well or is it possible to just add the the waterfall to the back side of the pensinula where it is joined to the wall?

Leave it alone. Your space is still so unfinished that you are hyper focusing on one specific thing. Once you have stools in there and pendant lights and other furnishings/artwork, you will forget all about that because it is not, nor should it be, a big focal point.

Perfection is overrated. You will make yourself crazy. Most of the pictures I see of peninsulas with waterfall tops, only have it on one side.

There isn't just one way to do things. You need to do what looks good to your eye. BUT you have to consider the space as a whole - all the elements together.

Thanks Debbie! That calmed my nerves. I will just remove the 3” backsplash from the peninsula and call it a day on the stone in the kitchen.

Once everything else is in place I can make a final decision.

Stone looks great. Beige cabinets look okay. I agree on the lighting but also accessories and other texture/color elements. LOVE the lights with the brass posted. Some greenery and wood elements would help the theme along.

Not sure what was there before, but it may have been beautiful. The best thing to do now is to remove all that dark green marble. That is the nicest way I can say it. UGH.

Holywaterfall I really liked the wood table with those chairs. Will be putting those in along with artwork and 1 or 2 palm trees. Will def incorporate plants.

Terrib962 we all have different tastes and that is what makes us unique. Green marble may not be your cup of tea and that is respectable.

Martha I originally thought to change them to white but will wait til everything else is done for a final confirmation. Most likely will keep the beige but we will see.

Glad you decided not to add more marble. It is pretty as is.

Leave it, and add white through accessories and maybe cabinet pulls. It would brighten and maybe give the feel you are looking for. Also find a rug that brightens a d pus all the colors you like in the kitchen. I love the beige cabinets.

That marble is stunning. No need to make it pop with white cabinets. I love the beige which is btw coming in very stylish this year. Really when everything is dressed up your choices will make sense. Seems you’re going for a luxe, calm and masculine look, not the usual “family” look with everything white and bright.

I am thinking you look for a slim runner in the kitchen, maybe the colors/ pattern could repeat in the living roo. If you absolutely don't want to go that route in the kitchen pathway then I would add in the dining area instead

The green stone is gorgeous. Leave the cabinets alone and focus on lighting (agree that brass lighting will work beautifully) and stools (something textured and interesting). Then find fabulous brass hardware and stop.

Move your attention to the rest of the living space. Wait to decide on a kitchen runner after you decide on an area rug for your seating area.

I agree a softer, pale wood table would look very pretty in your space. Just keep your cabinet color in mind - don’t go too dark. I like the one from @wsea.

This space will be gorgeous when you’re done. No need for more stone on the side of the cabinets. Focus on keeping the rest of this open space cohesive, which highlights the stunning green centerpiece. You’re doing a great job.

Following. Ditto all who said keep cabinets as is and focus on lighting. It looks organic modern, organic contemporary? Lighting (pendants, overhead, undercabinet) may also help you decide on keeping the wall color or changing to a white. I can't wait to see what you do with the space!
